experience with turbos???
here's the deal, I can get a turbo for free off of a wrecked dumptruck at work . I was wondering how hard it would be to put it in my buddy's Stealth . Anyone have a clue if it'll be hard or even if it'll fit?

it can work just fine but its not sized at all to that motor and will suck. its gonna take forever too build boost as that car doesnt even compair to the CI and airflow the diesel makes. There was a 5.o that had a semi turbo it was sad took over 100 feet at the track before it hit boost. Time was a 14@110 i think? its a joke, get a turbo properly sized to that motor or atleast close.

That turbo will be way to big for a stealth, let alone the compression of the v6 stealth engine if no where near the dumptruck's! Your better off buying a used turbo from a Supra or RX-7. Most people say get a used one from a Volvo but it's a waste of time and you wont make any power.

well the idea is basically free boost, and it isn't my car nor my money so as long as there is beer in the fridge to drink i'm over working on the car anyway. He doesn't have a clue about building horsepower, he's convinced a cat-back will give him 50hp and the "race pipe" he bought to eliminate the cat will make the car louder and a whole lot faster. but I figure we'll give it a try since he can't drive it anyway (DWI :bash: ). And it isn't that big of a turbo, maybe the diameter of a 2 liter bottle, maybe smaller...oh well, free beer and a car to work on that you don't care about is free beer
