Default Shifter/Tranny Noise??

In my last two stangs I've installed a Steeda Tri-Ax and after the install I've noticed increased tranny noise coming through, which I've just accepted as part of the mod. But, has anyone come up with a creative way to help eliminate or reduce tranny noise that comes through the aftermarket short throw shifters???

There's a gasket u can buy to help reduce it, not sure of the brand or link tho.

You also get more noise with Longtube headers, I hate it with the windows up.

how do you describe the added noise from LTs? cuz I definately got some but I always thought it was because we didn't put my dipstick back in until last and we couldn't get one of the screws to go back in lol

the gasket is sold right here at MT

I just learned to live with it, but it does sound horrible with the windows up and no music on

It's the "drone" from the headers as my tuner described it. It's from eliminating the two preliminary cats in the stock H-pipe. I would be willing to bet that anyone with an aftermarket mid-pipe would have some of this "drone" since they all eliminate the prelim cats, but probably not near as bad as longtubes do. I've just learned to live with it as well. It's not bad, it's just on accelerating. And when my windows are down, I can't hear it at all, only the exhaust

hmm.. mines not really a drone.. it sounds more like something is rubbing on something lol. I thought it might've been the dipstick rubbing the header (sounds perverted )

Yeah, as said above... adding an aftermarket short throw allows more noise to travel up. A shifter gasket as listed above will help some of that.

I did use the gasket from MT when installing it so maybe that's as good as it's going to get. Not a big deal, just was curious if anyone had created anything to reduce the noise even further.
