How about the thread originator "I Drive" post a picture of his car and we can decide how 20's might look on there!

Wow, you know me so well, do you really think I need strangers on an internet forum to agree with me. I just want some info from people with experience. If the rubbing issue was true for everyone and all wheel types I'd say hell no to 20's but I have read posts on this site and others by people claiming absolutely no rubbing issues and well no issues at all and in my opinion there cars look sweet and they have obtained the look I would like to get. What my thinking is so far is some wheels might rub some might not, I read that if you put 20x9 upfront with the right tire size 255, there should be no issues.

I definitely am not trying to start some 20'' wheel argument because I am fully aware of how strongly people feel against them and how there are more 18'' fans out there than 20'' fans, if anyone reading this likes or has ever liked 20's they know exactly what I'm talking about.

I actually have no pics of my Stang on my computer, I will later, but you can use your imagination, it's a black 2001 GT same as the guys in the picture in this forum but I don't have side door pipes and I don't have a cobra front end. Basically right now it's black, has Mustang GT decals on the sides and I currently have these wheels in 17 inch.

only difference is I have an SVT center cap, there originals, not replicas.

Yeah I thought they were pretty cool when I first bought the car, but after lookin at them awhile I want something new and in my opinion Razors are nicer, I wanted American Racing Rogues in black for awhile but then I seen how nice razors looked on cars, the bend look in them looks very aggressive. I also wanted black Razors for awhile but than I realized they are few and far between and I remembered how chrome does shine pretty nice in the summer.

Check out this forum, look at the black Mustang with 20 inch bullits posted by tugg34.

I think 18" Saleens look good. I'll get the 18's, and he can get the 20's. After we both get our suspension in order, we can both post up pics and have a good comparison of 18's vs 20's on a new-edge.

edit: i missed the second page of comments before I posted. my computer is scewing up.

sorry, I was in a hurry when I typed that. I meant that I am getting 18" Saleens, and then when you get your 20" rims, whatever style they are, we can both put up comparison pics of 18's vs 20's on a new-edge. Just a thought... unless ofcourse I go with the staggered 17" fr500's... still deciding.

I'm not even sure I can get'em in 20 might be going with 18's with just really wide tires, like 285's I'll just have to wait and see what is available.

I use to have 275's before I pretty much lost all the tread. They looked great so I am guessing that 285's will look even better. I love that muscle look when they are really wide and stick out. Plus if they aren't as big as I expect or stick out as much as I want I just found out about spacers for the first time the other day. Who knew I could have made my 245's look actually aggressive.

Question Where to start?

First off I don't know anything about rims other than the wrong ones will make your ride look crazy (in a bad way). I'm hoping someone can help me find what I am looking for without having to modify my car. What's the widest I can go in the front & the back? I'm trying to go for the old school muscle car look but with the new style rims.

Hmm great I just saw the pics. Great pics. I must hands off to that person who has designed mustang wheels. The wheels are so gigantic that it is looking marvelous. The black car having those powerful wheels in black is worth watching.

I had those wheels originally, but in my sig is what I traded them to. Now I have factory bullitt wheels and I love them the most out of em all. The 20's were awful for handling and braking, plus they didn't fix the wheel gap. 99-04 no, 05-current yes!

Default just IMO

I love 20 inch rims on my new edge! As long as you lower your ride it won't resemble a dunk A.K.A The 4X4 look. As for clearance issues or "rubbing" mine is Lowered about 2 inches with staggered wheels and I've never once had a clearance issue.20x10's out back 20x8.5 up front.

Different body style... I have the '07 and initially had 20's on it, and there were no rubbing issues; however, the ride was horrible. I was feeling every bump in the road... it was like driving a tank. I switched to 18's and never regretted it!

Default 20” wheels

Many people have this size and have lowered Mustangs, yet, some websites sell them and some don't. For example, American Muscle doesn't sell Razor wheels in 20 inch for 99-04 Mustangs but sells them for 06+ Mustangs and they say they don't recommend this size for 99-04 Mustangs, however Cruizin Concepts does sell them in 20 inch for 99-04 Mustangs.

Anyone with actual personal experience of owning 20 inch wheels know if they're any issues with 99-04 Mustangs, like, rubbing issues ect.

I just want to know if they will fit and if so how big of a tire can I get, I was wanting to go with 285, all around.

Like I said I know lots of people have this size on 99-04 Mustangs (Razors included) but I don't know if they did anything special to get them on their Mustang. Basically will they screw on like my 17 inch ready to go?

Any knowledge on the subject would be great. Oh yeah if you have 20 inch wheels post some picks, especially Shelby Razors.
