Default J-Mod

I know theres been a buncha previous threads about this but i still need to know a bit more. I know you need to expand some holes by drilling them, the confusing part is whats with all the main control units on the directions? Also do i need to do anything with the solenoids, or for the j-mod is all i gotta do is drill the holes? I would just buy the valve body pre-done but vapauto doesnt do it anymore, and i cant have my car waiting for 2 weeks while i mail mine to him.

I'm going to be taking my Performance Automatic valve body out of my AODE either at the end of this month or sometime in May. If you can wait I will sell it to you. They sell for 300 on summit racing. Since mine is used and still works like a champ I will let it go for 150 shipped.

All you do is drill some holes and replace your transmission fluid and filter that's it. If your fluid is new you can filter it and reuse it if you want to so its even cheaper. However for the price of fluid and since you're in there I would replace it.

Have you looked at the updated directions on the crownvic site that I have posted a ton?

go to www.tccoa.com and follow those instructions for the proper year you have. I know the different years and all gets confusing but read carefully and follow carefully. I did mine and it worked great. You don't HAVE to have a programmer, the mod firms up the shifts plenty enough the bark the tires. If your're careful (and a little lucky) you could re-use the gaskets if they don't tear. Keep it clean and remove the burrs from drilling. The accumulator springs are cheap enough. It takes more time then anything. Don't re-use your fluid. It is cheap and not worth messing with. It probably needs new anyway. Take your time, read carefully and you'll be fine if you feel comfortable doing something like that.

I tried the link on here and it leads me kinda weird place..I know the instructions to the J-Mod, i found them earlier. It gets confusing when he starts talking about the main control unit, and where do i find the links for the settings that i should follow? I dont plan on making more than 300. The drilling is the easy part, again its the whole main control unit part that confuses me. Also do i gotta do all the pulling of the radiator hoses and etc? I didnt realize the radiator was connected to the transmission....I feel really awkard because this is very confusing on the beginning steps.

auto mustangs have radiators that allow trans fluid to flow through to help keep it cool.

Use nothing but Motorcraft Mercon V. If you look around at that tccoa site there are step by step instructions. It is not that hard, but it is confusing with all the info. It is just drilling out select holes to proper size, eliminating one spring and replacing another with a part number they provide.

My main problem is getting to the point where you actually start the drilling, i know what to do when i get there but getting there seems impossible. Im tempted to drop it off at a performance tranny shop and say, here do it.

Edit: Luckily i found a video that describes pretty well how to do it.
