The 4:10 ring and pinion, without a doubt. But a noticable difference with my cat-back and X-pipe also.

I didnt notice any improvement in ET or MPH all it did was calibrate my speedo had a lot of problems with it sent back to Superchips 3 times before they got it right! 1st time the idle wouldnt go below 1500 rpms and the 2nd time the car wouldnt start the 3rd time finally got it right car started and idled but no improvements at the track in fact car ran low 15s with the chip on the motor, ran a 14.99 once!! took the chip out did 4 passes and the worst run was a 14.8 best run was a 14.6 @ 97mph @ 5600 ft above sea level The only reason I left it in was that it kept my speedo calibrated! I just got tired of dealing with Superchips Ive herd that the SCT tuner is really great though

I don't have gears yet, or a tune, but from what I've got it's a toss up between the x-pipe and plenum

best was a 14.6?!! With just a cat back and K&N and I was able to get a 13.99 @ 99.98mph. That was in my 99 35th Limited Edition GT, same as you. Sounds like something is up.

I ported my stock throttle body and upper plenum and went from 13.7@101 to 13.40@103. Much better throttle response and only cost me about $20.

My top 3

1. 3.73 Gears- cars pulls much harder in 3-5th gear.

2. Diablo Predator tune. The predator tune added a ton of mid-range torque.

3. Rear wing delete. Not a performance mod, but looks bad ***

The best bang I got for auto-x was a set of big fat sticky tires. LOL
Other than that I think I felt about the same improvement with all the engine mods I did. Hypertech tuner, plenum spacer and ported plenum, pullys, and removed air silencer with free flowing filter. Each one of these read improvments through the butt dyno.

My mods are listed, as far as superchips goes I bought the tuner from them and it has only hurt my track times. The SCT is the way to go. If you want better economy go superchip you want performance go with Superchips Custom Tuning! 14.080 is the 1/4 time so far.

Yeah but look at where you live at? I race at 5500 + ft. above sea level!! Cars dont breath as good here you come here I guarantee you'll add about sec. to your Ets!

4.10s with a SCT Chip is the most noticeable thing you can have put in

Bolt ons take awhile for you to notice,if any,but gears will let you know they are alive and kicking

According to charts I have seen, here is the approximate rpm change with gears...

3.27 to 3.73 is 250 rpm
3.27 to 4.10 is 500 rpm

Doesnt seem like alot but it sure feels like you've added another 50HP to your car. You know how sometimes you add or do a mod and at 1st it seems like you've gained a bunch of HP then after awhile you get use to it and cant really tell its there. With gears, you will never "get use" to them. You will always be able to tell they are there everytime a ricer pulls up beside and you weld their doors shut.

Now there's a testimonial if I ever heard one!

I've heard the same 40-50 hp "feel" from other's who have gears and compared race times/hp, etc.

Gears make a substantial difference!
