Default Cracked Windshield.

More of a rant/statement than a question.

So over the summer while driving on the highway a rock hit my windshield and immediately cracked. Since then it has slowly grown and its sorta in my line of vision and is getting rather annoying. I know I dont have to replace because it will pass inspection just as long as it doesnt interfere with the function of the wipers.

Would it be worth to spend the money and get a new windshield or just wait till it gets really bad?

Is it even possible to get the same windshield that came from the factory with the Mustang and dots on the upper portion on it?

Replace it. Most insurance companies will do this for free under your coverage. If not I'm sure there are hundreds of companies that come to your home in your area and do it for $200-300. Much better then a shitty looking windsheild.

I dont think my insurance will even cover the windshield. Deductible is to high. I know if FLA they will replace a cracked windshield without cost to you. Pretty sure its different in Texas.

Check with your insurance first. Mine cracked this past summer also and I only had to pay $50 for a brand new windshield, and yes, it had the pony and dot matrix. My friend's insurance however doesn't cover a windshield and it would be around $500 for him to get a new one, so he waited till it was cracked to hell before raplacing it.

Replace it. Last thing you need is for it to continue to spread and have a chunk of the layer come off or for condensation to form in-between layers.

As mentioned, you're insurance may cover it. Unfortunately, mine only covered repairs and not replacements...
