Default xpipe question

Hi, I have a 2004 gt and a question.

I was looking for an x or h pipe for my ride. I came across this (http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/XFM16/10002/-1). For x pipes on my year is the extension recommended or necessary? Also, can I just use mil eliminators instead of the extensions? ALSO, the mils only eliminate the o2 sensor issues right? nothing else? like if my alternator was going bad it wouldn't turn the light off?

Pypes is a reputable brand isnt it? Im looking for an x or h and dont really want to spend upwards of 260 just for the mid pipe.

Thanks for any help.

This is what I put on my car. Like you I haven't heard much about pypes so I paid just a bit more but it's a brand I know and it's a good part. It wakes up the sound of the car big time.

You can not put MIL's on the front o2 sensors, which is what they are talking about needing extensions. Those are what read the a/f ratio while cruising and adjust it as needed for better mpg and emissions. You don't need to spend 35-45 bucks on extensions though. If you can cut and splice in wire you can lengthen your stock o2 sensors for around $5 worth of wire and connectors. That's what I did, and I would never pay for those stupid extensions.

If you want an H-pipe- http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/30596/10002/-1

I bought the same x and after the install you can see them hanging below the subframe which is too low for me so I cut and welded them up so if you get on your hands and knees you can't see them, I would buy them again then cut and weld etc, nice piece, I would only go with stainless. BTW I don't think the mil eliminators are going to work with your '04, theres lots of reports that they don't work on 01-04's and they didn't work on my '03 either.

maybe I'm too picky, I've only heard a few complain about how low they hang, viewing from behind/side the car, I want it to look clean without seeing the pipes or mufflers.
