How to correctly set quadrant position
Most aftermarket quadrants come with spacers (washers) to set the quadrant position correctly. Well, although I used their spacers, my UPR quadrant must not be aligned well with the hole in firewall, because my stock cable snapped right at the quadrant after about 10k miles. It must have been rubbing slightly, getting frayed and eventually cut.
Anyone have any tricks in correctly positioning the quadrant? I remove the drivers seat and lie on the floor to visually inspect, but its still hard to see if there';'s perfect alignment.

I too had a cable break on me only 15k or so into my new clutch and quadrant/firewall adjuster. I went back under the dash checked it and every thing looks lined up well. I replaced the cable and I check it every once in awhile now so far it looks good. Other people have told me they have broken cables with aftermarket stiff clutch setups as well.

I've always heard that aftermarket cables are no good and if you have to replace it to replace it with an OEM cable.. I had a Steeda cable/ quadrent and firewall adjuster in my old Sixxer though and never had any problem at all.. I think it's kind of just hit or miss, some cables last and some don't. I have a hard time believing that a braided cable could break from a small rub, but I gess anything's possible.
I had some problem from my quadrant. I ended up just flipping it over and using the spacers to make it fit tight. I need to check it, because I had problems with getting the firewall adjuster right. Plus the dang clutch pedal adjuster doesn't allow for much travel, so my stuff is all screwed up I think.
