Default Do I need a new brake system?

I have had my 2008 GT Convertible for just over a year, have approximatly 11k miles on it. I have the following mods: Steeda CAI, 91 cotane performance tune, Corsa Axlebacks.

Question: Should I be considering a better set of roters and calipers or just keep the ones that came with my car?

The only other performance mod I plan to install are a set of pulleys.

I considered a trottle body but have heard the risk and work vrs reward is poor.

Bigger brakes will always help. I wouldn't go so far to say that it's dangerous to be still using your stock brakes, but upgrading the brakes is always a worthwhile mod.

your brakes are fine for what you have....upgrade in pads and stainless lines will help out with pedal feel as well.

Any suggestions on pads and roters that would fit the stock "17 inch stock rims/wheels on a GT prem 2008 GT?

For rotors go with stock replacement blanks, not drilled/sloted.

Satisfied GS6 pads and stock/Brembo rotors. If you plan on a brake upgrade, I'd wait until you need to do the brakes in which unless your rotors are warped, just get them milled for $10 each.

Do you plan on road racing the car or something that would put a huge demand on the brake system? If it aint broke dont fix it.

Is there a problem with the brakes now, if not do what stranger00 said and you will be fine. That makes a world of difference in pedal feel and stopping.

Thanks for all the replies, currently my breaks feel a little spongy and I only have 12k miles on the car.

I'm going to get the Transmission and diff fluid changed in a month anyway so I will ask my ford service center/dealer to check the breaks.

If it's spongy, than chances are you have air in the lines. Bleed your brakes.
