Default 460 Trans question

This is probably a stupid question, but I figured I would ask anyways. Do any of you know if a newer modular trans will bolt up to a 460? Just trying to keep my options open, and I happened to notice the low prices on most 460 parts. I started talking about this on another part of the site, but it was kinda OT. So here I am. If anyone can offer any insight, I'd appreciate it. TIA.

mod motors have a different bell housing bolt pattern. So in short no the tranny from a 96+ will not bolt up.

You need something w/ the Modular bellhousing pattern, not the big block pattern. Plus, why would you want a C6? It has no overdrive. It may be bulletproof but it's not good for the street, especially when you have better choices like the 4R70W or the 5R55E in the 05+. The other choices also aren't so hot, especially since those are geared for trucks, not cars.

The whole point is that I was kind of getting interested in throwing in a 460. But if the stock trans from the car wouldn't be able to bolt up, that would make me less interested in installing one. Hence the reason for this post.

Gotcha ya. You can always get adaptor plates/bellhousings...

I know adapter plates could be made, but what about the trans input shaft?
