4r70w Trans Question
How Do You Determine If You Have The Std 4r70w Trans (2.40) Or The 4r70w Wide (2.84) ? I Went To The Link For Gear Calculator At Tch And Came Up With This Question When Punching In My Vehicle Info. I Own A 2001 Gt Convert. Is One Trans For A V6 And One For A V8 Or Is One Trans Designed For A Truck?

the trucks only have the wide ratio 4r70w. but ot make sure if your Tranny has a large W
stamped onto the tailshaft (the rear part of the tranny that the driveshaft slids into) then you have a Wide ratio aode. Hope this helps ya out.
