I never thought I'd see the day, but Stephen is right. 4.10 auto, 3.73 manual. I know I said 3.73 in your other thread, but I thought you had a manual for some reason. So with that, 4.10s

they say 3.73's for manual because with 4.10's or higher you practically dont have a first gear : ). you would shift from first to second in a heartbeat. with an auto o well it shifts for you

4:30's? isnt that too low? i drive the interstate for 3 hours straight occasionally 1 or 2 times a month to my home town, would 4:30's be a problem? or 4:10's? i was thinking of 4:10's myself. Would 4:10's help my miles in town or hurt them on the highway much? i get about 16-18 average on the highway with my 2000 automatic GT.

Get the 4.10's!!! You won't regret it! If you do 3.73's now you'll kick yourself in the rearend (literally), then wonder..."what if"? I've had 3.55s, 3.73s and 4.10s in my foxbody GT and let me tell you, there is no comparison, especially automatics! The auto overdrive will help out with the rpms too so it's not that much of a difference. These cars weigh more than foxbody mustangs too, so every bit helps.

For an auto car 4.10s are pretty much the way to go with the nice step overdrive ratio they have. In town most people get better mpg because of the better gearing. On the highway you will loose 1-3mpg depending how fast you cruise. Since you do not do much highway and a little 3 hour cruise is no big deal. I would get the 4.10's and enjoy the extra gearing to get you going faster.

i bought a set of 4:10's last year for only 100 bucks brand new from a guy at NMRA, i ended up selling them because i didnt have the money at the time for a programmer. Im thinking gears, programmer, and a 100 shot i will be ready to roll.

I hope you add in a set of drag radials or slicks or you wont go anywhere fast, trust me. I have a hard time as is in 1 and 2nd with stock gears and a manual.

If you do a little bit of highway driving i'd look into 3.90's. I have 4.10's and where I work now I am on the highway for quite some time and cruising at 65 at 2,500 rpms is no fun. Especially to the ears. :-/

4.10s and don't look back! If this is the first time you've ever done a gear change, you will not believe the difference...totally different car! Cruising around town will be great too. You can leave it in a higher gear and not worry about bogging. Plus, if you accidentally forget to leave it in 2nd gear at a stoplight, you'll actually pull away without stalling! I have had every gear except 4.30's in my Mustangs and 4.10s are the best NA gear IMO unless you want to spin it to the moon.

Thats because I rolled into the throttle and then at 3k when I was at WOT the kit turns on, and you know how it was after that. Anyway no more stealing his thread.

i got 3:73's for my auto V6, because i have been doing a lot of highway driving lately. those gears turned my car into the fastest inn my house ( we have 3 cars, not all mine). 3:73's or 4:10's, whatever you get, they are worth it.
