Default Rear Bumper help

Has anyone else had any issues when installing a new rear bumper on their stang? I finally got my new rear bumper in and it seems to be giving me some troubles putting it back on. The top of the bumper seems to be kinda stiff and I can't quite get the bracket with the 6 screws pushed up far enough to line up with the holes. Anyone have any suggestions. It's pissing me off a little. Didn't think it should be this difficult to put a bumper on. 2000 GT by the way.

Thats what happens when you dont buy OEM bumpers. You dont have any other scews/ bolts tightened all the way right? Ive never removed the rear bumper, maybe you can enlarge the holes so they line up?

If its not OEM then all other will require a bit of drilling or cutting here and there to line it up. Thats why body shops charge alot to install body kits , hoods etc because they waste a lot of man hours trying to line things up.

I just might have to do that. I'll work on it today since I'm off, but I'll let you know. When you said tomorrow, is that today (Wednesday) or Thursday? Sorry the time on these posts are always messed up.

Well after some finagling and two sore hands later, I finally got the damn bumper on. I will snap some pics in a bit after I eat and wash the car.

I had the stock GT bumper before and now I have a V6 bumper with no letters. I'm running dumps now so I have no tailpipes. I gotta say, I love the sound of dumps on my car.
