Default New pads, or Cobra brake upgrade?

I need new brake pads, but want to eventually get the Cobra (Mach1 from BuyFordRacing.com) front brake kit. I can't decide if I just want to spend the ~$150 or so on new pads or go ahead and get the brake kit. I autocross atleast once a month, but don't utilize my brakes like I should and don't think I will improve my times much with the better brakes. I figure I could just get the Satisfied pads from Advance and be happy with that since I don't HAVE to have the Cobra brakes. The $~400 is a little more than I want to spend right now aswell. So I kinda have to decide if it is worth it or not.

Also chime in on what pads you'd recommend. I was leaning towards the Satisfied pads. Since I don't wanna start another thread, I also won first place in my category in this past weekends Mustang car show. Beat out a mistychrome Cobra, WOOT!

If you think you don't need them, then don't get them. Bu,t it is a worth while, and extremely easy upgrade. For pads, I like Satisfied GS6 pads (which can be picked up at tirerack.com in case Advance doesn't have them).

I think I am just going to get new pads, and try the Satisfied pads like you and other have recommended. Next time I need new pads I will reconsider the Cobra brakes.

Go with the brakes dude. They will come in handy more often then you think. You cannot beat braking power
