Default In your opinion best differential

Atm im running an auburn with 3.73 and 28 spline axles.

I want to upgrade to 31 spline so i can run slicks what would be a good differential? Its a street car so spool is probably out.
How about Auburn Ected? Anyone know how much power they can handle? I emailed auburn no response.

I want max traction in a reasonably quiet package.

Ford truck 31 spline posi is cheap and does a good job.

spool... strong and great for launches on slicks. And...there's no diff cheaper than a spool

spool isnt very streetable is it though?

I need a differential that can hold ....5- 600 rwhp for my next build up.

if you're going to launch 600hp on slicks, you need to consider the potential for parts breakage with limited slip units. That's a lot of power. An Eaton or Auburn or 03 Cobra Track-Lok is about all you've got for reasonable options. The torsen T2 is not really intended for launching so much as road course but it's an option too.

Detroit True-Trac is what I run. Lots of 600 rwhp full weight Cobras run them with no problems. Forget about the spool on the street. It's not worth losing your ABS for.

that's a really good idea. forgot about that option. That's strange since I planned on using one at one time.

Doesnt a spool make the car corner like spit too? I dont race at the track other then 1/4 mile but i do like a decent handling car. ( i have steeda stage 3 suspension) I removed my front sway bar and the car was a death trap changing lanes at 120 kph seemed unpredictable.

Perhaps the handling was bad partly bc i didnt get a wheel alignment right after i lowered it may have helped induce bump steer. My girlfriend noticed too and it scared her she said she wouldnt drive with me if i didnt put it back in haha.

The car handled like a shopping cart with 1 bad wheel without the sway bar.

Spool just full time locks 100% correct? If thats the case you would put undue stress on axles cornering as they are both turning same speed instead of inside wheel slower.
