Default Gear Question!

How do you know if you have gears? I bought my GT stock..All my mods done to it are listed in my sig...Lastnight i raced a 02 GT he had intake and exhaust NOthing else. We started from a dig, When he switched to 2nd i was still in first, when he switched to 3rd i was in 2nd gear at 5500rpm...My gears seemed a little longer than the other GT! So do i have gears or is it my mods?

if you had gears than i would assume you would shift gears before they did...

put your car in the air turn your wheels (by hand) and see how many times your drive shaft turns. i dont know how to get the results but other people on here do.

i believe it's as follows,

3.27 = 3.27 wheel turns for every 1 driveshaft turn

if you have 3.73 that means the tires turn 3.73 times for every 1 time the driveshaft turns.

4.10 gears = 4.10 wheel turns for every 1 turn for the driveshaft.

and so on and so forth.

also 03GT, if you shifted after he did then he probably had gears and you didn't.

well if u had gears you would be shifting faster than he was, it could just be a that he got the jump on you or launched higher than you

It's the other way around! For every 1 turn of the wheel, the driveshaft spins 3.27/3.73/4.10 times.
