I recently took my car to ford for a misfire, they replaced my maf sensor, and a coilpack for $400. The car seemed fixed, but then my ses light came back on with the same problem. So I cared it back to them yesterday, now there saying that they know one of my injectors is bad, and that all of them may be bad. They want $275 to replace one injector, and another $100 if I get them to clean the others out. What would you do, would you pay ford to do this, or would you take your car somewhere else for a second opinion and price? Or would you simply replace all the injectors yourself?

And to top all the money I'm haveing to drop into my car for that crap, I have a $440 window tint ticket to pay next month.

 

Why didnt you take care of the problem yourself the first time? Ford will charge you up the *** for any repair work. They will tell you it will take at least an hour longer then it really will depending on the repair. Is there any way you can get your money back since the work didnt actually fix the problem? We can help you along the way and figure out what it is. Have you or Ford pulled any of the spark plugs? I think they are just ****ing around with you and getting as much money as they can with this.

 

if it's not under warranty, stay away from ford. First, you paid for them to fix the problem and like retards they replaced the MAF which never goes bad (they just get dirty) and a coil pack. The coil packs almost never go bad.

They jacked you for 400 bucks for a 10 minute job and didn't fix the problem. Call them and complain, demand that they fix the problem or return your 400 bucks since their service procedures failed to solve the problem but succeeded in draining your wallet. Don't be a puss... they ripped you off, rip them off.

 

After they fix the injectors they probably will tell you its something else....and then something else....it will keep going on. Now that my warranty is up I never take my car to ford cause they try always mess with me.

 

w00t.. and dublin ford is a BUNCH of crooks. They said a busted coolant hard line wasn't covered because it was part of a hose assembly and hoses aren't covered. So 300 bucks later, I find that they broke a hole in my pressurized overflow tank (this is all on my Taurus) and didn't notice the fountain of coolant under the car. I got the tank and a new accessory belt comp'd to me and installed them myself. Problem solved.

 

My car has never ONCE been back to a Ford dealership for those exact reasons.

 

I don't know, I should have done the work myself. I wont take anything else to them.

 

Try to get your money back. Do you know which cylinder is causing the misfire? Pull out your plugs and check them out. Did you clean your engine bay or anything recently?

 

Personally, doing it myself, is way out of my skill set.

As for dealing with Ford, here's 2 or 3 options I'd argue over with them.

The first job cost you $400.00. This second job is being quoted as essentially $375.00.

So;

Option 1:
You tell them you already paid to have the same problem fixed once. It's not your fault that they didn't know and/or do enough to fix it right the first time. So they can go ahead and do the replacement of that one and clean the others, but common sense should/would dictate that there shouldn't be another $375.00 charge to have them fix the same problem that they didn't fix the first time.


Option 2:
You tell them essentially the same thing as option 1, but being a little more of a "hard ***" tell them that since the first job cost $400.00 and the second job (that is supposed to fix the same problem) is going to cost $375.00, that they can go ahead and do the replacement and cleaning, and at the same time refund you the $25.00 difference. If they'd done it right the first time, then the first job should only have cost you $375.00



Option 3:
Tell them that since they didn't do it right the first time, not only are uncomfortable having them work on your car anymore, you also want the $400.00 refunded, because they didn't fix what you paid them to fix.

I equate it to you highering a carpet cleaning service to come to your house and clean your living room carpet. But instead you find they cleaned your bedroom carpet. it's not your fault they're idiots and cleaned the wrong carpet. So why should you pay them for not doing what they were paid to do? If I did that at my work, I'd have my *** escorted down to the unemployment line.

 

They want refund me I've already tried, the ses light said it was cylinder 2 wich is the cylinder they replaced the coilpack on, but now ford is saying its the cylinder 3 fuel injector causing the problem, and that all of the fuel injectors will probably go bad. So I payed them to replace that one fuel injector while they have my car.

 

So now they have already replaced the MAF sensor and the cylinder 2 cop. The problem didnt go away. So now they replaced the #3 injector? Are you still throwing a code? I doubt its your injector. And if your computer is saying its #2, then why does Ford think its #3? Why didnt they try to replace #2? Sounds to me like they are going to keep screwing you as long as possible. Injectors just dont go bad. And them telling you all your injectors will go bad is 100% bs. Who did you talk to about refunding you?

 

quit giving them money. they'll do whatever you tell them to if your ***** are big enough to make them know you know what you want and you'll accept nothing less. don't be a puss.

Replace all the ****ing plugs yourself and then get yourself a manual and clean out all of your fuel injectors. Trust me...I have been charged up the *** before by ford for a misfire. All I did was change all my plugs and it never happened again.
