Default gear lube

i just got my 4.10s put in and the mechanic said that the explorers he puts rear ends in take all 3 quarts of the oil and he could only get 2.5 quarts into my stang..................is that right or did u guys get all 3 quarts in????

also he gave me a 200 mile break in period and i just got done with my 500 mile clutch break in this is killin me 2 do a burnout lol any1 else have a break in period?

You dont need a break in period for your gears. they either work or they dont. light em up...

oh and you should be able to get just under 3 quarts in so you should be good to go.

thanx matt ima goin 2 take it easy fo r a day or 2 maybe b4 i light em up lol i kno i wont make 200 miiles

Go rip em up right now. I got on mine about 40 feet leaving our dealership after my test drive to make sure they were done correctly.

gears don't need to break in. that's just that. You should be stomping on it right off the bat. Break in for a clutch is almost just as silly. If it won't take 110% right off the bat, it wasn't done right.

The guy that sets up my gears has me go right out and flog the hell out of them on the test drive. It's gunna hold or it ain't.
