My AMSOIL Lube Job :)
Well I finally got the great opportunity to get Slither lubed up with some awesome AMSOIL products that I purchased from http://www.firstplaceoils.com. It was a wonderful day in the neighborhood and I had some free time to take proper care of the car. In the box of goodies I had AMSOIL Engine Flush, AMSOIL 0W-30 100% synthetic engine oil and oil filter, and AMSOIL fuel additive.
After I got the car up on jack stands, I emptied the container of Engine Flush into the crankshaft. I cranked the ride up and let her idle high for a good 15-20 minutes so the Engine Flush could really soak in and get everything all cleaned up.
Once I shut the car off, I slid under and began the oil draining. Carefully though since the car had been at idle leaving the oil hot. As soon as it began to drain I understood what I hear about it looking like coffee. Luckily I had a cup of coffee next to me so I was not tempted to drink the warm oil. After a good draining, I pulled off the old oil filter and replaced it with the AMSOIL oil filter provided. I ran a little bit of the new AMSOIL engine oil through and let it drain a little more until I noticed the pretty new clean color running out. I capped her back off and filled the crank back up with 5 quarts of shiny new AMSOIL. I think I heard Slither purr once I did this.
After I got everything all tightened back up I pulled the oil pan out. GROSS!
Accidentally spilled a little but here you can really tell how disgusting the crap that came out of my engine was.
The car was on empty so I ran it up to the gas station and filled it back up with some 93 octane and dumped in the fuel additive.
I drove the car around for several miles today and I gotta tell you, it runs like I was back in time to 1999. The car has 180k miles on it and I must say I am highly impressed with the quality and smoothness of the engine idle. I can't wait to burn this tank of gas and see how much improvement I will really see in the week to come.
I recommend AMSOIL to anyone that doubts what great synthetic oil and treatment can do for your ride.

Yep, I switched my car over to Amsoil this year too.
I'm not sure that I like the 0w20 yet though.. I can hear the valves moving a lot more than I could before, but it may just be the fact that they are able to open and close easier, who knows.

look I'm sure I'd do the same thing if I were in your position..
but you only post here to advertise your website and your car. and now your company that's paying you to post oil reviews?
honestly Donnie, I could give a ****.

I always stuck with Mobil 1 as well..

You know Im right though, so whatever. And as of late, here at MB, you have been quite the let down. MB is a free advert tool for you anymore...and nothing more...

My company? What are you talking about? Are you high again or what?
So because I don't post here everyday that is bad? I do chime in on posts on here without speaking anything of my car or website. Wake the hell up.

You're a tool.

No you're just trying to hard. Please get Slither's dick out of your mouth...I can hear you choking from here.

be nice to slither. He was kind enough to post high quality pics of actually doing something to his own car. How many people actually really change their own oil? Most get their favorite flavor of whatever and take it to some local lube-monkey shop.

Weren't you over this site cause Slithers site was so much better?
But I would have to agree, it does seem like everytime you actually post on here its like look guys, my site made it into a magazine or something.
Congrats on changing your oil though.

And really? Pictures of.. bottles of oil, and him dumping the **** in there. Thats it. It WAS basically a shameless plug.
#27
Ok, I'm done being a dick.

great job...I just dont see what the big deal is with Amsoil. I'm not really sold on the whole oil lasting forever thing. Blows my mind that filters can make it a whole year without change. I'm speaking from Amsoil spokesman.

Some of you guys seriously need to take a pill....
The guy that runs firstplaceoils.com has done some pretty cool stuff. Taking other competitors filters apart, showing the real difference between Amsoil products and the others that you see on the market.
