I was just looking at the specs for the H&R sport springs and low and behold they are excatly the same. So I would think that I should get the same results as everyone with the H&R's. I have poster the H&R specs below:

Specifications:

* Compatibility: Fits all 1996-2004 Mustang Coupes and Convertibles (Except 1999+ Cobra)

* Spring Rate:
o Front: 700-760 lb/in
o Rear: 275-300 lb/in

* Approximate Amount Lowered (Coupe):

* 1996-2004:
o Front: 1.75”
o Rear: 1.6”

# Approximate Amount Lowered (Convertible):

* 1996-2004:
o Front: 1.9”
o Rear: 1.5”

are you sure that's sport and not super sport? I mean, C springs are stiff to me... like edge of comfort stiff and they have 650's up front and 200/300 in back. H&R sports are about like C's to me. Super sports are just shy of the R springs.

I'm not surprised that the guys over at corner carvers told you to get too hot a spring. They are serious track guys and hard core enthusiasts. They are at one extreme of what you'll find in the way of advice. MT is at the other end with a massive population of below average wrenches and a few handfulls of experienced ones that tend toward heavy street setups and not so much the track setup. Get advice from sites oriented to your style of driving.

Quad shocks were enough of a benefit that the factory installed them. The factory doesn't install jack unless there's a pretty good reason in ride quality or stability. Still, I don't use them. With good uppers and lowers and a PHB I don't see the need for them. My general rule though is, if you don't HAVE to remove it to put another part on, don't remove it at all.

You got me thinking about rear suspension again though and I think I just came up with a new hard-core suspension design for 99-04's. I'm gunna run it past the guys at MM and see what they think. They liked my last couple.

These were made as direct copies of H&R Sport Springs that we carry. However, right now we are looking into the possibility of a bad batch with an incorrect rate (someone keyed something in wrong, etc). The other springs we have are FRPP C-Springs copies and they came out fine. Why this is happening I don't know, it could be a few different reasons.

Either way, we are aware of the problems and we are going to be looking into exactly what is going on here. For those of you with the springs in hand right now, hold tight to them. Yank them off your car and set them aside for now until we can get you the correct rear spring. Like I said, we arent sure if its a bad batch with the wrong rate, or something completely different.

Well after reading MTShambles reply I think I am going to cut 1/2 a coil off the stock springs and switch them out with the orange ones until the corrected ones come in. Thanks again to everyone for thier responses / help.

MTShambles, keep me posted on the fix for the springs, I look forward to getting them in the car.

I just wanted to let everyone that has been following this thread that Chris took care of the spring issue promptly and without question. Although I was not able to purchase the replacement set from MT (time constraints) I will continue to check MT first whenever I am looking for parts. Thanks again Chris.

I have attached a pic of how the cobra looks with the new Kazera springs in it.

that's good and low. Looks well balanced drop-wise. I'd like to give props to MTShambles for jumping on this issue publicly and letting everyone know what's happening and what they're doing about it. It takes gumption to jump up and say, "Yes, there's a problem. We're fixing it." That's the kind of stuff that keeps the business of demanding peeps like me. w00t.
