The first thing you need is a handheld tuner. I would go with SCT (superchips custom tuning) You WILL feel the power increase. It allows you to store the stock program so you can load it back onto the car when you take it for warranty work. Since this is a brand new car then I would stay away from anything that will void the warranty. Since its you and your wifes car I wouldnt think that itll be used for serious racing. The only mods that you can get away with are these:

1. Handheld Tuner (The best mod $400)
2. K&N FIPK (the dealer will void the warranty if he sees a big flashy MAC or Steeda Kit on it) $200
3. A cat back exhaust kit ( $350 and you can slip it on yourself in 5 minutes)
4. Underdrive Pulleys ( $175 installed )
5. Gears (4:10s and theyll cost about $400)

Looks like about $1525.00* for these mods. Your car should run about a 13.6 or so in the 1/4 mile. These mods should have it running very low 13s or better. You should be able to take an LS1 with it after those mods.

My bro has an 06 GT with-
JLT CAI
sct xcal2
Magnapacks
and he keeps up with me with while i am using a 50 shot of nitrous

another mod i would stress would be to lower it with eibach, gives it an awesome stance (the 05 and 06 are really really high 4 x 4)

Also A Shifter is a GREAT mod. Go with MGW if they make a shifter for your car.

3:73 gears if you decide on getting a SC
4:10 otherwise
Shifter
Subframes

These are the best mods I've done that you can notice a difference and are worthwhile. Just my .02!

Thanks to all for your input. I've purchased the SCT2xcal, Magnaflo axle back exhaust and AFE air intake for starters. All will be applied this Saturday 5/20.I'll let you know later how well it works.
Again Thanks

Well I have the magnaflow exhaust and AFE air intake on with a custom tune with the SCT 2 excalibrator tuner, WOW what a difference.
It's not the same car at all.
Going to do some mild cosmetics next. Rear spoiler, side window louvers to start.

where abouts in california are you? I'm a CA guy too so I can probably point you to local sources of parts, install and tuning that you'll like. Plus there's clubbie deals depending on where you live.

I'm in so.Cal.about 70 miles east of Los Angeles just past San Bernardino. It's my wifes car but She's a little lead foot and loves the extra performance and so do I. She does drive it daily to and from work and errands.

K&N intake... you don't need that cold air crap...

Exhaust is a big thing...

You want headers? A mid pipe? A Catback? or a combo?

if ya just want some sound then I'd recomend an new H-pipe and a good chambered exhaust... like borla, flowmaster 40 series, magnaflow, etc

Tuner... definately an SCT... you will need that too with just about any mods...
