Default For Sale forum rules - serious thread

I've always liked it here but in my opinion, and possibly the opinion of others (please post if you agree with this thread, or have any other suggestions) I think the classified rules could use some..alteration, here's my proposal:

RULES OF POSTING IN CLASSIFIEDS:

2 - YOU MUST state a price on what you are selling. No "best offer takes it" threads. One warning to fix the post, if no change in 24 hours, the thread is gone.

-ah yes. this is the rule that inspired this thread. if somone doesnt want to put a priceon their item, i dont think they should have to. hear me out. im trying to sell my nitrous, i spent over 1200 bucks on it. the thing is BRAND new, but since ive used it i have NO idea how to price it. i think it would be fair to let sellers post their items and work out price with whoever wants to buy it. i dont see how that would cause any trouble at all, mustang tuning nor mustang boards has to take responsibility of what happens between two people. all i beleive is needed is a small disclaimer in the original rules post stating that. im not saying that this is how it SHOULD be, im asking.

8 - Do NOT bump your threads. This includes any "TTT, up, bump, lets get this thing sold" posts. People will see your thread and chances are your product will be sold without you having to move it to the top of the page.

- as long as a person is not unresonably bumping (determined by a mod) i dont see how this would be a problem. sometimes when one is trying to sell something, a bunch of other thread might be made, sending that persons for sale thread to the bottom of the page with out any notice. i dont know about anyone else, but i never scroll down in the classifieds, haha.

9 - Buyer Beware! MustangTuning and the MustangTuning Forums team are NOT responsible for a transaction going sour and your money getting ripped off. The mods of the forums will do the best we can to stop any fraudlent transactions if we think something is fishy, but in the end it is up to you, the user, to figure out whether or not the buyer is a legit seller.

- oh look, a disclaimer, how convinient. that will go nicely with my suggestion for rule #2

14 - You MUST have atleast 35 posts before you can list an ad. If you do not have 35 it will be closed and or deleted right away. This is for the protection of our forum members. After all, we would prefer you join the community and post around before you try and sell stuff. Let people learn who you are

- last one. 35 posts? what happened to 50? **** i think it should be 200. i can make 35 posts in less than an hour (as many of you know )

thats all, please dont take it as a complaint or any **** like that. i just think they are good suggestions that you should take into consideration.

anyone else is free to chime in

I'll take it into consideration. The rules might need a little tweaking, as some items, as you have said, are difficult to price.

That and ive been away for a while and out of the loop, which doesnt help .

I think rule #8 is pretty stupid. I dont know of a single other board using that rule either. I never knew that was a rule here. I think there should be at least 50 posts before someone can post in the classifieds section. I think everything needs a price. List high sell low if you cant sell it. Otherwise itll turn into an auction. This isnt ebay.

Rules are a little bit off-whacked.

hmm i diasagree. every forum im apart of doesnt say anything about must have a price, the place doesnt go mad. this is a small forum, with about an average of 5 interested people per thread (estimate) i dont think anything other than a satisfied buyer and seller will result

The reason thats in place is so the seller doesnt get lowballed over and over. If you are selling something, you have an idea what you would like to get for your item you have for sale. So list a price because someone is gonna shoot you an offer regardless of whatever price you put. It just evens the playing field so you give everyone an idea of what you would like to get.

The rules of Classifieds have been updated. Mind you I came up with those rules on a whim and had to make them very quickly, hence why they are kinda half assed .

This thread is now closed.
