Default My trunk is broken!? PLEASE READ!

Hey there
so i am a very new user to this website and i have a question
I bought an 06 in october and around christmas i noticed once and a while the trunk popped open and it beeped inside the car when i was driving
I brought it to Ford to get fixed and it seemed alright, recently i have had two subs put in my trunk and if i listen to it loud at all it makes my trunk pop open too
and this isn't because i have some insane system, it is just a couple 10 inch subs with 1000w amp, there is really no sense that this shoudl cause a trunk to pop open
also becuase this used to happen before ? so i am assuming there is something wrong ??
is there anyyyyyy suggestions at all ?? this is really bothering me so if anyone has heard of this before or even has any ideas at all pleaseeeee let me know !
THANK YOU in advance
n00b chris

It can be only 2 possible things that I can think of.

1. a bad latch
2 a short in the wiring to the latch
Just take a good long look under there. It might be obvious.

Anything loose in the golve box that could accidently hit the button? Or same with the trunk? You got that child safty release pull thing that might be hanging up or malfunctioning? Just my thoughts is all.

Just look if you haven't already. Check any of the possible reasons that these guys gave you. Or just take it to a dealer.

I would forward this question to Randy in the Parts Section. My fiance's 05 has had some trunk issues, latch not opening all the way, trunk light not working etc. He could probably let you know of any recalls or known issues.

Good luck.

this sounds like a shimming issue on the latch.
