Nice. What kind of auto tranny do you have in there now? This summer I am going to put a built auto in my car and a multidisk torque converter and see howmuch power I pick up.

How much power can you pick up with a multidisk torque converter?

thanks all

i run a AODE street/strip tranny but i had the input shaft upgraded. i also have a bigger pan on it as well.

after the converter and tranny install i picked up 4 MPH in the 1/4 mile from 110 to 114-115. i was bouncin the limiter on the 114-115 passes so if i had more revs i could of maybe hit 117 or 118 at 12.5 seconds slow LMAO.

Oh I see. I don't know howmuch power you will pick up. My tuner told me I will pick up around 30hp but I am supercharged. My torque converter is unlocking in 3rd gear around 4500 rpm and dropping in power. Instead of making more power!!

Howmuch should I be looking to spend for a built auto tranny and install. I know it all depends on what tranny you go with and what the shop charges you, but I would like to get a ball park figure to know what to go in there with. I am also getting a pi multidisk torque converter and I have a tranny cooler I will have put on. Might even put some 4.10's while I am at it.

i paid 300 to have it installed. i supplied fluid. i gave the tranny shop my old AODE for the upgraded input shaft.

i paid 1600-1700 for the performance automatic street/strip tranny from brothers performance. i think its cheaper on summit.

have you had your engine built? that is about pushing what a 2v can handle without new guts isnt it?

ok a little update!

this friday my car is getting re-tuned by Tony G. from HP Performance he is coming out here for our local clubs dyno day. the only thing that is different on my car is that i have a O/R x pipe and i will finally have a MAF extender on it. I dont know if i will pick up power or not but hopefully i will get some answers about this converter lock up problem. im getting a little impatient i still have to see if i can even get the day off from work, LOL.

leaving for the dyno in a little bit...should have some numbers up here in about 6 hours or so...

i burned myself pretty good the other day when i changed out the H-pipe to put the x back on. the good thing is that me and a friend swapped it out in 45 minutes even had some hiccups with the o2 connections. no leaks on first start as well

some unexpected things happend so i'm back home late... i was following someone on the autbahn to go and pick up some parts from their house but their car broke down

tuning went well. i didnt need a MAFIA but i have one installed on my car just incase i need it later. i got my converter issues nearly sorted out i just need a little more pressure added for the converter lockup in 3rd gear, i think this converter is on its way out. the dyno numbers are FUBAR'd germans like flywheel power and after the calculator that tony built it showed my car making 371hp to the wheels and my buddies same set up plus long tubes and manual pulled 376 hp at 5500 he ran out of fuel. so now i have a nice straight air fuel ratio and not that wavy **** like above i have 4* more timing and im running a little on the rich side for some safe measures. this isnt my daily drive tune this is for track duty only too much timing and the shifts are too hard at part throttle for me to handle. now all i need to do is get to the next track day and see what kind of times i will put down. so far my best at bitburg was 12.7 at 108 mph...lets see if i can get a 12.4 at 110-112 i was losing a lot of momentum with the converter slip.

Howmuch boost are you running? Thursday I am getting a lentech automatic transmission put in, going with a multidisk lockup converter, and 3.73's. I am already making 370rwhp/396rwtq through my stock auto with the stock converter unlocking in 3rd gear around 4500 rpms causing a big drop in power. Hoping for 400rwhp with the new tranny, but I doubt it since it is so god damn hot here in South Texas right now... btw I am running 8lb's on my P-1sc.
