Default 2nd gear lauch?

Hey guys I just wanted some advice on lauching. I have some problems with spining in 1st and 2nd gear. I have tried feather the gas but it kills my 60 ft times and has not help my overall 1/4 mile time. I have a 2000 GT with a Mac o/f H pipe, tri-ax shifter, filter, flow master mufflers, H&R springs, motive 4.10 gears with 18x9 and 18x10 rims on kumbo estca tires (245 ft and 295 rr). My questions is what can I do to help prevent so much tire spining from occuring? Besides drag radials and more rear suspension mods (upper and lower control arms etc). What I mean as a driver with my current set up what can I do to improve my lauch and prevent spining. I lauch a 3000-3500 rpms with a best 60 ft of 2.33 and 1/4 of 14.5. I was told to try lauching in 2nd? Is this good advice and will it help my overall 60 and 1/4. I feel if I can hook up that I can get 14.0 flat even 13.9? When the money is right I will do more to get power to the ground but am on a budget and working on a 05 gt as well. Any advice would be great

thanks

Jeredan is right, 2nd gear launch wont help unless your making ALOT of power to make up for it in the long run. All that 2nd gear launch will do is bog your car down and cause even worse 60' times. Your best bet is a better tire and dont launch as hard, moreless go like your taking off from a stoplight.

Dont launch at all. I have 3.90s and I launch from idle and I can pull 2 flat 60 foots.

Thanks, I didnt launching from 2nd gear would work out due to power. I just am going to keep practicing and have to invest in some drag radials.

pull off your front sway bar. it's free and easy as hell to un-do after your track session is complete. You'll have lots better weight transfer and that will help keep the tires down. Other than that, on street tires warm up to like like 1800rpm and keep the tires from blowing off. Have someone catch a video of your back tires so you can see where you spin and how violently.
