Blown 5.4 2v, and a 350TPI camaro
So I had a pretty cool race the other night. A buddy of mine has a 2002 Saleen it was origionally a 4.6l 2v with an eaton M90 on it (all stock) but he blew up the motor with N20 so now he is running a 5.4l with the M90, its basically stock with exhaust and slicks/skinnies. He ran 11.4@121 on mickey thompsons and a 150wet shot.
Long story short we did quite a few pulls, and even had a close call with a state trooper but i pulled on him every time on low boost. We went from a 1st gear roll once and by ~5k in third i had ~ a car on him. And from a roll on the HW i walked him pretty good, he would pull ~ a 1/2 or 1/4 of a car till my car got into boost (i wasnt break boosting) then i would pull away and we shut down at the end of 4th. He didnt have the spray hooked up because he is still breaking in his clutch, with the 4.6 he went low 13's with a 101-103 trap. . at least thats what he told me.
OH and i ran a buddy of mine from a 1st gear roll till the endof 3rd on low boost. He has a '92 camaro 350tpi cam, exhaust, intake, pullies etc etc, he goes 13.6 in the 1/4 on drag radials. We went from a first gear roll and i took him by 3 cars when we shut down at the end of third gear.

i was running him @ 9psi, which is basically running the waistgate boost pressure but controled through the electronic boost controler (so it doesnt spike and it spools faster)
not exactly sure about the 1/4, last time i went i was running with a broken rearend.

Ok, i was about to say. i know i've seen several SC 5.4's pushing 11's or better. They put one in a fox body, with no other mods and it was running high 11's. I wish you had pics of his set up, under the hood. Do you have a pic of what's under your hood? You definitely have one beasty V6.

you have the wrong idea about what setup he is running. He has a stock Saleen supercharger, they happen to use the Eaton M90, aka the same supercharger that comes in the Supercoupe (aka SC Tbird) and the Pontiac Boniville/GTP) both 3.8's he has that tiny *** supercharger on that big-o'l 5.4 and its hurting him bigtime because the eaton hasnt even been ported. Thats the reason he gains damn near 20MPH in the 1/4 mile because of a 150 shot, because it makes so much heat, and is damn ineficiant.
