Problem With AC Compressor
Hi ..My sons AC compressor is shot. He has a '94 Cobra. It seems to be the clutch. It gets very hot after starting the car for just a few minutes. Can anyone tell me how to replace the clutch on the AC compressor? Or Remove the compressor entirely?? Thanks Very Much.

I had the same prob with my car a couple years ago. After a lot of research, I ended up replacing the compressor itself. I was nervous about doing it alone but I did. I bought a new compressor an o ring kit and freeon. Wasn't that hard if ya don't count unhooking the nightmare lines. Those AC fittings were a bitch! Anyway, I had the system vacumed down and then took it all apart. I poured 6 or 7 oz of PAG oil into the compressor and turned it manually to make sure it was full of oil. Reinstalled everything and hooked up the cans of freeon . Once all was done, it worked. That's not the RIGHT way to do an AC but after 2 summers its still blowing cold.
