Question Noisy rockers

I have an 83 GT with 302HO we rebuilt the engine 2yrs ago mostly just mild upgrades mild cam, lowprofile aluminum intake, holley 4brl,headers. It runs like a bat out of hell but I have allways had noise in the valve covers like valves or rocker ticking. I tried new push rods not much diferance. doesn't seem to be any wear on the rockers(not replaced)what else can I try without spending a fortune?

thanks,
Venona

The first and more then likly reason why its making noise is improper valve lash and or some other sort of valve train binding. I would start by rechecking all the valves lash and make sure there to spec. That can cause alot of valve train noise if there too tight or to too loose.

83 is a non roller motor. could be a lifter or a rocker. could be many other things. have to hear it, see it, and play with it. line the fender with a towel, pop the valve cover off and fire it up. make sure your getting oil up through all of the push rods. sounds like a lifter or a rocker. ive got a full set of 16 rockers from my 87 motor that i would send you for $10+ shipping...
