Default Mods for my '94 GT

Hey guys! Decided to be annoying, and use my first post to ask for help. I'm looking to mod. my stock '94 GT 5.0, and I was wondering if anyone on here owned one, and what the best things to do were. I think I've narrowed the basics down:
Exhaust, cold air intake, new heads, new gears, and a 70mm throttle body.

this site really doesn't have much to offer the 5.0 crowd, so I was wondering if anyone knew of good brand names to look for, since I live in a crappy part of the country for buying the good, cheap engine parts I need. if anyone can help or offer any suggestions, that'd be great! thanks.

i'll post pictures, soon.

You can get exhaust and gears here and those are the most popular things to do first. I personally started with exhaust. Just the sound alone makes it worth it, but the power gains are a welcome bonus.

The weak point in the older 5.0 motors is definately the heads. Get some new heads and cam and intake, and that itself is worth about 80-100 horsepower. Gears and exhaust are also great cheaper alternatives to somewhat keep you satisfied until you save the money up, but you'll always want more. Its like crack...

If the '94s are like the older 5.0s, then the intake is definitely something you will want to change soon. The cam should go too. Just don't get too big of a cam or you will lose all your bottom end power. Although, that does give you an excuse to get 4.10s then...

had one a while back, Intake, full exhaust, pro 5.0 shifter, 3.73 gears. Heads and cam is a great way to get some real power out of that old 5.0 as already stated.
I wish they still made the 5.0, it was a awsome motor and can last for a really, really long time. I had mine for about 180K and it was still going stong.

if it was me i would go get a set of used heads off of ebay like trickflow etc. just stay away form the gt40's they really arnt worth the hassle. then get a good cam and intake setup it will hual ***. then of course you need exhuast and so on.

Yes I just traded in my 94 GT vert I loved it

here is what I had done

B303 Cam
70mm BBK T/B
Mac Cold Air
Mac After Cat
Mac Prochamber
Pro.5.0 Shorty Shifter
3.55
TFS Street Heat Intake

But yes The weakest point on those cars were the heads and the very restrictive cats
I recommend full exahust and Edelbrock makes a kit with Heads, Timing chain, Cam and intake. or Trick Flow is awesome as well

you ever think of going carburated? i have a 93 motor and im making it carburated. just gotta change the intake, add a carb and switch out the distributor. get a nice victor junior intake, holly 650 double pumper, headers, put some 3.73s on it, heads, like mentioned above, are definate power robbers on 5.0s. check out the gt-40 heads.

when it comes down to the throttle body rule of thumb with a 94-95 is 65-70mm n/a and 75 maybe if your blown.. i'd use a 65 on a motor without heads and intake.. but u have to be careful i guess if u start to go too crazy with heavymods u won't be able to tune the car because the computer sucks in the 94-95's...

hey man do yourself a favor and purchase the dyno sim and drag sim software from www.proracingsim.com . you will be able to accurately simulate any of the mods you speak of and make an intelligent decision as to what mods works best with what mods. i agree with all of the above posts but instead of "he said she said" advise, now you can know for sure what is best for YOUR car. i also have a 95 gt and as you know stock they are slow as a bastard . it takes intelligent part chosing to wake this 94-95 stang up. Stock they run a 16.2 in the 1/4. I have mine down to a 14.1 with no engine mods yet. This should be a TOOL that every aspiring drag racer owns!! and it will save you thousands of dollars in the long run and youll be able to beat the pants off all the so called 10 sec mustang experts. just my 2 cents man and no dis respect to the above posters
