Arrow Need advice for some external upgrades

I have a black 2003 V6 Pony Edition. Was hoping to get some recommendations on some simple external upgrades.

Here's what I already have: 18" wheels, tinted windows, dual flowmaster exhaust.

Here's what I was wondering about: I think the stock bumper needs some improvement.....perhaps a chin spoiler? New grill or grill delete kit? Should I lower it? Do I need to get new shocks if I do that?

Any other recommendations?

Thanks for any help!

The pony package is alreay an "upgrade". You car probably looks just like it good be a GT now. I would think a grill delete and chin spoiler would be a nice addition without getting crazy.

i didnt know there was a pony package for the 2003 v6, i thought that was on the 05+ stangs..

i'd say lower it for sure. you can use the stock struts and shocks if you have fairly low miles.

i think a grill delete and chin spoiler look great on lowered mustangs. i love the saleen front but imo you would have to do the side skirts and rear bumper to make it look right

the chin spoiler and grille delete are def.'s and U could also do Tail light tints for cheap from ebay... if you really wanted u could do stripes but i wouldn't recommend that unless you were already planning on them. I love the c-pillar scoops

Default Lowering questions

If I have 37,000 miles on my 2003 V6 do I need to replace the shocks when lowering it?

too many people have done the saleen conversion that it has lost some of its cool factor.

I just did mine, wow I have 37,000 also and a 2003...if u have a DSG that would be WEIIIIRRDDD>....

I just put in H&Rs about 3 months ago, and I haven't had a problem with them at all...Eventually im guna go with a Steeda Suspension package though, so at some point the struts and shocks will be replaced...

I put it this way, u can if you have the money it would be a good idea, but itis by no means necessary....

saleen clones are everywhere down here.. im really sick of seeing them. a lot of them are v6's with the saleen body kit. a guy down the road has a 6 with all the saleen badges and everything saleen you could buy except for the exhaust. he still has the v6 exhaust...

Well I'm sorry that you see them as an eyesore. To me its one thing to have a Saleen body kit (its a body kit, keyword.. same with all the guys that have the cobra kits on their GT's) with stock badges, its anothe to have a V6 with the Saleen badges.

To me thats just stupid to be quite honest... I have full intentions of completing the Saleen kit, but I'm going to swap out the ponies for the "V6 3.8L" 5.0 look-alikes, and everytime I get a guy that thinks its an actual Saleen, I'll just point to the fender badge.

I changed to a gt hood, gt rear bumper cover, bullit wheels, added the GT side scoops, grill delete, and Mach 1 chin spoiler. I added a 3.8 badge to the trunk, so as to not to look like a poser. Worst thing is a body kit, never seen one I liked except for maybe a Saleen.

I agree body kits are stupid:shifty: LOL J/K

Anyways a drop is a must. Everything else is personal preference. I obviously didn't want to have the same mustang as everyone and their mom so I worked on it from all angles stereo, exterior, interior, performance blah blah blah.

But simple cheap stuff chin spoiler, grill delete, drop, GT/Cobra parts. Now is it over done??? I think so.

i like the saleen body kit but so many people have been putting them on their stangs that i think they have lost some of their cool factor and being unique. although the official saleen kit helps aero and downf.

If you want a grille, but not a grille delete, you can do something like mesh.

This is what I have and really like it, because it's different and not everyone has it. Here's the site, they are very high quality, I've had the hood scoop, side scoops, lower and main grilles. Great prices too.

Agree there. I live in a populated area and lots of nice cars roam the streets. I've only seen two other Saleens in 3 years, one was real and the other was a Cobra.

I am going to be getting the saleen badges and everything, but also doing a TRUE conversion from Saleen underdrive pulleys, to saleen pedals, door mats, foot mats, everything I can, in hopes to get Steve Saleen's sig on the dash/engine bay. I know this can be done and isn't too hard just time consuming. You also have to pay something like 500 bux to get this. The only thing I'm worried about is I have an auto, and I belive all Saleen's were 5 speeds, so maybe I won't be a perfect replica.

Two days ago I was driving home and a White Saleen pulled up next to me, i woulda sworn it was you lol...minus the mileage difference...

I used too want a Saleen kit but I've seen alot more on the road, and Alot less Roush's although they might be on the road more often soon too..
