Default Advice on upgrades for my '96 v6?

Hi everyone. I am thinking of putting some money into my '96, as far as visual upgrades, I know that I want some new headlights. I was thinking of getting these from AM. http://www.americanmuscle.com/muclhecst4pc.html

I also know that I want some new wheels and tires, but am unsure of what to get at the moment.

For performance upgrades, I was hoping you guys could give me advice on what you think might be best for my car. Any advice on visual upgrades is also welcome.

Forgive the pics, they're from my phone. I know it's dirty right now, but i haven't been to the car wash in awhile because of the weather we've been having here the last few weeks.

thanks for the replies. lazer, i thought they were a good choice too. my lights are really bad, i can barely see at night, which is why replacing them is a priority. thanks, i really like my stang. i got it last year, and it had decent mileage and was a clean car all around. i got the exhaust taken care of when i bought it.

welcome, and nice looking car!

gears and a t-lock are probably the best bang for your buck, although if you can get your hands on an 8.8 rear with this set up, i'd recommend that instead. much stronger then the 7.5 rear and will be able to hold up if you ever plan on really working your car.

then i'd get a nice tune and drive that until you get bored.

i have a 98 v6 convertible and put over 10 k in upgrades. i would highly recomend getting and exhaust and cold air intake for some easy upgrades for performance and sound. rims will make your car look like a totally different car. i would prob go with some chrome ones with your color car. what color is your interior? also tinted window are a great look but are illegal in most states to have the driver door and passenger door windows tinted but that doesn't stop us. just got a ticket two days ago. also put some chrome fog lights in to match the new headlights. i have those exact ones and love them looks great. would also recommend getting rid of your front license plate which will make the car look much meaner and not stock but again it is also illegal in most states but yet again won t stop us. 50 dollar ticket. interior upgrades are fun too. you can get a new chrome gas cap to match everything else. if you would like to email me i will send you a ton of pics of my car so you can get some ideas and see how some things actually look on my car. stereo systems are fun but overrated and you get bored of the easily. i spent 2000 buck on mine and not really worth it later on down the line. also new tail lights are nice too esp with the same color bezel as your car. my email is critly23@aol.com. I'm selling it too if any one is curious.

your third brake light you can also change to a chrome with led lights going in a row across to match your new taillights very nicely.

hey jerkstang, thanks for the advice. interior is light grey and the dash is black. matching foglights would look great. i just gotta take out the ones the previous owner put in. they don't work, and i don't think they're even wired up at the moment. i'd love to see some pics of your car. shoot me an e-mail shock_the_alien@hotmail.com unfortunately i don't have anywhere near your budget for upgrades. i was planning on rims and a cai though. do you have any opinion on rim choices for my car?

i'll send you the email of my car. look at these rims and the cai that i have . the rims i got non stop compliments from old ladies to little kids. there by far one of the nicest rims you can through on your stang. there chrome Bullit 18x9 fronts and chrome bullit 18x10 deep dish in the rear all bought from American muscle. they no longer have the 18x9 but they now have they 18x9 in deep dish. i bent one of the rims in the front and they no longer make it so i had to buy from another place. AM has by far the best prices you could find i got all four rims mounted and balanced for free and shipped for free with the chrome lug nuts and mustang centercaps all for 1530. i would deff go with the 18x9 deep dish front and 18x10 deep dish rear. extremely good rims. and a BBK coldair intake is gunna be the best for your model that your gunna find. felt a difference in sound and performance. i'll sendyou some pics of all this.

please don't get underglow neons... your car will look like trash.

a good visiual mod if you want to replace your headlights, is clear headlights. go to 50resto.com, and get the stock cobra headlights and corners. i did that on my sn95 (with a HID kit) and a chin spoiler really made the front of the car look different.
