Default tire help need

right now im running 275/35/18 bfg drag radials on the back of my stang, i was thinking i would make it through the summer on them but I just noticed there is a nail lodged into one of them

what is a nice 315 tire that i can run out back that will get reasonable miles on them that dont cost $400 a tire

Im not sure you can run a 315 on your 18inch rims without rubbing. maybe you can, but iv'e heard it will rub.

295's a are a proven good-to-go as are 285's of course. 285's will guarantee you wont rub.

wow...hundreds of people run a 315 with no problem on their stang

but if you want a street tire i would get 295/35/18 BF KDW2's, and for a drag radial get a 305/35/18 nitto

Wow a 275 on the rear?

That's way to small on a 18x10.

Go with a 295/35/18 KDW2 like TClark said.

TC...running a 315 width 18 inch out back will rub...Ive seen it in person several times. Im sure there are slight differences between one car and another, but generally 315's on 18's rub.

tons of people run a 315 width 17 inch out back with no problem.

I had a buddy running 335 with no rubbing, not sure how. I know for a fact 295 wont rub, I have 295 kdw 2's and there is plenty of clearance. BFG was supposed to come out with a 305 and 315 in the kdw 2's. Don't know what become of that, but a 305 would be perfect in my eyes since 315 seems to rub sometimes and sometimes not. KDW 2's are probably the best priced tire you will find in a size that wide, and they grip quite well too.

Lance Im not sure if your IRS gives more or less room than the solid axle GTs. Its strange though...I have seen in person and read and heard of 315 18's not fitting on a GT. oh well...if you can run a 315 18inch then go for it.

IRS is suppose to give less room from what I've heard, but I may be wrong.
