Default need tire help

first off...sorry i did search but couldnt find what i need...

Ok so i have a set of 18 inch gunmetal saleens....Im running 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the rear....i did that so i could run a slightly wider tire in the rear.....So heres my prob...I havent ordered tires yet cause im not sure on what sizes will be the same....i dont want to end up with offset profiles from the front to rear....i want the same sidewall but just wider in the rear...Im thinking about going with a 265/40/18 in the rear...What would be equal to that for the front? If thats also a bad choice on size for the rear let me know...

ok... got my numbers set.

265/40/18 on front and 285/35/18 in back. You should be dead in the middle of rim size for each tire and they should have roughly the same sidewall height.

I ran 265/35/18 and 285/35/18's on my GT and I thought they were perfect.I have 275/35/18's on the front of the Cobra and they are just a tad bit too big IMO.

A 265/40/18 is wayyyyyyy to small for a 18x10.A 285 is the smallest I would go with and a 295/35/18 would be better.

Try my Mustang Calculator, put your tire sizes in and the graph wil show you the height and width difference between the two.
Plus a gear ration calculator with RPM vs Speed Graph

Download the sheet here.

you can get an excel viewer that plugs into your browser here:
