They're competitive with reichard's price. I can't quote exactly since I don't know but in the 350ish range. A little over or under is likely. They're not cast, they're machined on the latest pattern which makes much better use of ported heads than any other.
The kit will be available with other accessories to pick up the power of your 5.4 shortly after release.

how many guys need plates? I'm going to set up a group purchase and get you all a deal. If we can get 5 guys that need a set of 2v plates I can do something pretty good in all probability. You need to have the $$$... I don't want to jerk this guy around.

there are intake path enhancements that should yeild crisper throttle response and a higher overall NA hp number without costing any peak tq.
The price should be within spitting distance of 350.
Birdman, welcome. I'm glad you joined. Have you had it on the dyno yet? What kind of power are you seeing?

hey bird...
I've been working on the swap kit for the 2v and I pretty well have it nailed. Perhaps we can compare some notes and be of assistance to each other. Shoot me a PM and we can get more specific. There's an opportunity here.

they're really about the same. if you start with a 4v car it's not even a little hard. You started from a body in white which complicates some things and simplifies others. For a 2v it's just a direct bolt in as long as you use a mustang intake and adapter plates (and a couple other bits). To go to a 4v from a 2v is more complicated in the wiring but overall they're both fairly simple. To go v8 from v6 is a lot of work but not hard just the same. THat's the beauty of the modular motor. It'll all just bolt in for the most part.
Using the BOSS intake was a great move. If you up the cam spec a little you should be able to see even more but it appears that it's for sale. Heavy sigh.

Just finished my 3.8 to 2V 5.4 swap. It's a lot of fun to drive now, definetly worth the time (about 4 months on sundays). Wasn't hard to do at all. Spent more time on message boards scrounging up used parts than actually putting them on.
One note on swapping this way: All the wiring from the firewall back I left untouched and it works fine. I did auto-auto, so that helps out a bit. I haven't even dropped the fuel tank yet, but I haven't pulled any serious rpm's yet (I haven't got it tuned and I don't want to run it lean).
On another note, this thread is insane long. Anyone thinking about breaking this up into topics? Seriously, 130+ pages!?!

copracr: can you do a v6-5.4 swap how-to (just like everyone, not comprehensive... just basic details of what to buy and what to look for)
Myillwill, for 96-98 cars: same question
Bird, 4v cars: ditto
I'll do 99-04 2v cars.
I'm looking for 3-4 paragraphs each with a list of parts, cost estimates, cost/benefit review. Nothing fancy but enough to stop some of the questions with a sticky. Then we can use this thread just for updates on our projects.
They don't have a good 2v 5.4 intake down there, or a good 4.6 4v intake. THey do have a nice looking 3v 5.4 intake though that I'm trying to get a research sample of. We'll see.

i have kept the ac power steering, cruise the only non-stock is the cowl hood. but i plan on a intake from the lightning lower so as to use the stock hood. and i know the old 5.4 i had was a daily driver for months and i never had any issues.

Has anyone dyno'd a stock 5.4 with the mustang intake/exhaust? I don't have the money to get mine done yet. Just wondering about what I'm gonna get from all this.

This isn't a very good write up, but it shows some of the steps I went through on this project. It's not finished yet, but my car isn't finished yet. I'm driving it every day, but there's still finishing touches to be done.
And if anyone has any questions, that site sends me emails to let me know to check my thread.

That is a good idea in theory.
Not to be greedy or come off badly, but the way I did this is patentable.
I spent 2.5 years and a ton of money developing this to fit properly and ease installation.
I have arranged access to the parts and hardware needed,
I already have a comprehensive installation manual written,
and have no intention of giving it away for free.
There seems to be a need for this "kit" in the marketplace,
and at this point, I am in process of getting it out there for all.
There are a couple of firms I am currently in contact with,
and they are considering bringing it out.
There is a lot more to properly installing the 5.4 32V
into an SN95 or New Edge than you might initially think.
There are clearance and geometry issues that MUST be considered.
I developed this for Daily driver status type vehicles,
which is more difficult than a "race only" configuration.
Anyone can stick a 5.4 32V into a Mustang and it will go fast,
but the way I did it is almost invisible from the outside,
and you can keep your AC, your stock hood, cruise control, etc.
It will fit 96-2004 Mustangs.
There is already one black Mustang in Vero Beach, Fl. using a couple of prototype parts I developed.

if you take the mustang intake and replace the 5.4 intake i think that would help hp a lot but maybe hurt torque some. Anyone have theirs tuned and numbers? just wondering.
