Default Tire Fire

OK, I admit it, I'm addited to tire smoking! There is no cure, but thank goodness it is treatable. Roasting the hides can take place in many different forms(cars, trucks, daily drivers, racers, motorcycles, mopeds, lawn mowers, golf carts, etc...) but the kind I'm interested in is your hot rod(s). I just left a fresh set of posis in about a 100' S tonight on the way home, no audience, no video, just me, my car, and the smoke ! Just having fun!!! So how about you, when's the last time you smoked some tire?

Sorry mods if I was supposed to post in the Tire Talk forum...

Didn't even think of that, newb mistake, my bad

Nice on the new tire break-in too PureStang! I don't always run the crappy treads, the last new set I bought I broke is right. Line locked it for my friend one night just before I took the new tires back off. I have 6 matching wheels, so the front ones always ride nice treads, while the nice treads on the back get switched out here and there for the "fun" treads!

I burn out (brake torque) at the track to heat the DR's, that's it... Doing it on the street lost it's appeal for some reason.

I think my last one was a first gear roll leaving the bank. Theres a small twin-strip, then quite a long one from me holding out 2nd.

I can admitt that I had the same addiction but luckily I had it before I got my stang.
I used to smoke the hell outta my tires when I had my '94 Ranger Splash pickup that had a 4.0L V6 in it. For a small truck that thing was fuggin FAST! I couldnt keep tires on the damn thing! Plus it was a truck with a light rear end so spinning the tires really wasnt hard to do. After I my folks "helped me out" by buying me some USED tires cuz all 4 of mine looked like drag slicks, and I smoked the hell outta those too......... Then...... my folks were done "helping". I had to buy my tires. It took a while and I got around looking for used tires here and there but I finally got up enough cash to buy a new set. When I had to turn loose of that $545 bucks for tires I was heart broken. Ever since then, my tire smokeing has been minimal.
After I ordered my new rims and tires from AM and had my springs waiting to go in a few months ago. I thought why the hell not. A few days before I was to go to my buddys house to install everything. I got out and had a hellofa tire roasting event. Power breaking, donuts, drifting, I had a ball LOL. But in the three months or so since I had my new tires I have lit em up once for about 30ft was all.

- LOL

I virtually tried to tear the rear outta my T/A this morning on the way to work. Crap has been ugly there, so I figured at least have fun on the way 'cause once I was there I was "back in jail." Anyway, I peeled out(posis, tyvm ) from every light and stop sign that had adequate room. Yeah the new tires it is hard to justify, especially on a tight budget, but my used tires only cost $30 a pair and I got a stockpile of 'em.
