Sold the Mach

Sold the Mach
Like the title says, I sold the mach. I took most of my mods off and sold them within a couple of hours on the registry. I ended up getting a Pontiac G6...pretty much a commuter car and it's saving me a TON of money the my payment, insurance, and gas.
I have to say that sometimes I really miss the Mach, but I'm happy with the decision I made. I'm probably going to get flamed, but who cares life doesn't revolve around a mustang.
Anyway, I'm still going to post here so I'm not going anywhere!

Not flaming you at all..but I'm trying to rationalize why people sell their stangs because of xyz reason...did you know know how much your car payment, insurance would be when you got it? I'm sure you knew that mustangs don't have good ergonomics. I remember when gas was like $3.30 for regular around here..and not once did I contemplate selling the ol' stang...but whatever..

Some of the things you say crack me up. It's sometimes like watching a horrible Fast and Furios movie.

Although... I have been known to hang around midnight clubs myself, but not race.

So those are all fair questions, but I'm not 19 or 20 years old. I'm going to be 30, starting a family, a large mortgage payment, longer commute ect....So in my eyes it was the right thing to do, and for christ sakes people....it's just a car. It's not the end of the world.
You know, I'm not exactly sure the gas mileage I'm getting right now with the G6, but it's A LOT better than my stang I can tell you that. I used to get 260 miles out of a tank of gas in my stang with normal driving and now I'm getting around 380, and if it was straight through freeway driving it would be better than that.

when you get down to it, its just a car...i mean i love my stang...but then i remember lovin my gi joe collection too, when i was a kid... i'm pretty sure that that one day i'll be lovin a vette....when i go gray i'll be lovin a harley again..things move on

I would, but I sold it!
Oh, there will we another stang or vette in my future as well, but right now it just doesn't fit in.

Those are good questions.....and yes, I knew all of those things, however things changed for me. I also got engaged to my girlfriend of 4 years and figured rather than renting an apartment I needed to step up and purchase a home in order to provide for my soon to be new family (no, no child on the way, but some day). The townhouse that I purchased is about 25 miles from where we were renting our apartment. That doesn't sound like a big deal at all, but when there are millions of people on the road at the same time, it takes at least an hour and twenty minutes to even make up for that 25 miles, and that is only half of my trip. You say, why did i purchase a house 25 miles away knowing the commute....because where I was living before the AVERAGE price of a home is around $600k.

You did the right thing bro. I got married when i was your age, got a family now and I didn't get my car until i was 44 yrs old. I drove a truck for 12 years and we did have a big ole custom van before My wife got her concorde in 02 and I got my stang in 04.. Once you have your family life settled then you can get what you really want... Just put your family first then the rest is candy..
