Default Sold the 95 bought an 03 Cobra!!!!

Thank God for home equity loans. Haaaaaaaa. 50k taken out, 25 for me 25k for the house. You can see where my priorities lie!!

Scouted the internet for approximately two weeks and found an 03 Redfire in Ny. Well, I did the most crazy thing I have ever done and after many discussions w/the owner I sent 19.5K dollars to his chase acct. and paid the car off (sight unseen) and settled up with him when I got to NY. The car was everything he said it was and had only 20,028 miles on it when I left. The drive out of NY and into NJ was interesting. I've never seen such dirty roads and crazy drivers.
The car has it's share of bolt on's and was tuned by well known Team JDM in NJ. It has the SuperChips chip in it. The videos I have seen show the car running 12.0's at 119 and that was granny shifting.
Talk about a difference!!!! Going from a 95 GT w/a dyno proven 243hp to a car w/twice as much power is just a blast. Im trying to do as much research as possible and learn everything I can about these Cobra's and mod motors. I do know that the stock clutch DOES NOT like the power enhancement and after three spirited runs on the street back to back, the clutch started stinking to high heaven. Let's see if I can get these pics to come up. If not I will have pics tomorrow.

Ok, let's try this. Pic of my sold 95 and a pic of the Cobra. I re-sized from 1.3meg to 270kb. Hope it's not to big for this forum board.

Second one. I like how we have the "manage attachments" button. Dont have to worry about having to host them somewhere else. I'll get better pics soon. Put the car in it's first car show last Sunday and got a top 30 best of show trophy. Don't think I ever detailed a car as much as I did this one.

Wow that is a nice upgrade from the 95 lol. Congrats on the Cobra. Did you drive the car back home from NY to FL? If so that is one hell of a trip huh? I drove to NY from Pensacola and then from NY to Pensacola haha in December for a vacation just by myself. And yes those are some crazy F-in drivers up there. Congrats again!

Thnx guys. Got my first and second street kill last Friday. C6 Vette and big block 67 GTO. The Vette got me off the line, but the time I hit second it was all over. The owner didn't know how to use his paddle shifter yet so he just left it in drive. The 67 GTO wasn't even an issue.

The drive home sucked. After I got off the George Washington bride I missed my turn for the turnpike and ended up driving around NJ for awhile. Im sure there are nice parts of NJ, but talk about different. I screwed up my directions and ended up getting on the turnpike late in the afternoon on a Friday so you know what that meant. Was shooting for making it to NC by 11/12pm, but only made it to southern VA. Washington DC bypass at 930 at night was PACKED. Got a room and finished out the drive (11hrs) (total of 20hrs) home. Car did great. 307 to first tank and 318 to the second. Think it worked out to 21-23 mpg @80mph.

I think the only thing I'd like to do when the wife calms down a bit is get the Stegmeier (sp?) port on the S/C and a retune from the famous Herman. Was also kicking around the idea of a small shot of N2O.

Home equity loan is where it's at: I have the title and only have to pay 1% over prime. Why take a loan out at 10% and not have the title. I get the best of both worlds,,,new roof, new floors, new remodeled bathrooms a deck out back and a Cobra.

I looked for white originally, but decided on this when I couldn't find a white one w/mods in the price range. Wouldn't ya know it, as soon as I bought this a week later a white one comes up for sale. :wallbash:

Congrats on the Cobra! Hell of a car!

NJ is pretty fun huh? LOL! I live about 10 minutes from the GW bridge, right off of RTE 80 and odds are if you got lost you probably past by my way. Gets confusing if you don't know the area. You got the upper level, lower level, then you got access to about 5 or 6 different highways as soon as you cross into Jersey. Gotta make a decision quick or get rearended or better yet a fight 'cause of road rage! I love it!

Enjoy the car, the roof, the deck, the floors, the crapper...he!! your one lucky dude!

Thats where I got all screwed up,,,right after th GW bridge!!!! You weren't kidding 18 lanes going 30 different places. I think mapquest said i was suppose to go 80w to 295 south, but I got nervouse so I turned around. Got off and I think I was in Hackensack,,had to ask for direction. finally was able to get on the turnpike and fight traffic. Then, to top it off, I went thru the EZ pass booth and the car doesn't even have EZ pass. Whoops!!!

More pics to come. Was my first time in NY and pretty interesting. glad I was only there an hour or so. Thnx for the comments guys!!!!
