Default Need a top of the line Anti-Virus Software

Ok, so I've ordered a new HP laptop and basically got it all decked out. I want to protect this thing and get a top of the line Anti Virus.

I've found a McAfee "Total Protection" 10-1 which sells for $123.87 before rebated on their website. I can get this same one for under 40 bux off ebay, brand new of course with everythin there. (UPS code, etc...)

Any suggestions? I don't mind paying for it, so nothing free download crap.

mcafee and norton both suck in my opinoin..

trendmicro ftw. im using the trendmicro internet security 2007, love it too. protects against viruses and spyware. it has the highest success rate at removing spyware.

grisoft AVG. It's free and really really really good. I liked it so much I bought the enterprise version for my company. It's been less hassle than any of the big names (norton, mccrap, trend) and 100% effective. Updates are hella easy and fast too.

I'll post a link to the download in a second.

http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

It's free to the home user for the LIFE OF THE PRODUCT.

I use AVG free as well...had norton on a different comp at one time and i thought it sucked. Caused more pain than anything. www.download.com search for avg free.

I didnt click on the link above though so that probably works too

I use eTrust EZ Antivirus. The first year I had it was free and I just started the second year for 20 bucks. I've had great luck with it. I've accidentaly clicked on those viruses that get sent around AIM numerous times and had nothing happen to my computer while everyone else got all messed up.

I'm gonna try trendmicro I think. There's multiple 1-year subscriptions brand new with all software on ebay going for just under 20 bux.

Get avast. It is free and is the best you can get. I have been using it for two years w/o any problem on all three of my PC's.

AVG Free here. Symantec Corporate anti virus is great too. It's like Norton but better without the bullshit interface.

It's been working great for me so far. Also comes with 3 subscriptions so you can install it on 3 separate computers.

I bought mine off ebay for $15. Doesn't come with a box, but comes with the case and product key.
