torque converter
I was thinking about having the new 3800 stall converter installed before i get home, but would i have to get a new tune with the new converter in? Or would it not hurt it to drive around with the new converter in there? Suggestions?

Darrin Burch at BC Automotive...VERY helpful and gave me alot of help in picking the right converter. I contacted over 6 shops and none were as helpful as he was. I HIGHLY recommend him!

i just need to make sure i can drive it so i can have it installed right before i get home and driving like 200 miles on it(not getting on it) wont hurt it til i get to the tuner.

not getting it tune wont hurt it at all. there are a few parameters that can be adjusted for locking and unlocking of the converter.
i have a 3200 or 3500 i forget but its un-tuned and it unlocks or slips open at 5500 RPMS in 3rd gear only. talked to tuners and they are like i never messed with your converter in the tune. not really concerned because it does what its supposed to and i picked up 5 MPH in the quarter switching to it. im sure with better tires and tuning out that slip my trap speed should increase a lil bit more.
