A friend has recommended the best place to start with some affordable mods on my 07 GT is (1) CAI and (2) Throttle body. He seems to think that money spent on exhausts is a waste of money, and says the later model GT's need some back pressure, so apart from a set of mufflers for a better sound, I wouldn't get much extra power.
This seems a bit at odds with what I've read here. What do you guys think? Richard |

best mods are gears, and longtube headers with full exhaust behide them, then cold air intake and a tune

Well, on the 05+, the exhaust is very efficiant from the headers back stock. It's not so much that some back pressure is needed, is just Ford made it efficiant and right the first time. So exhaust wise, all you need is headers and a matching mid-pipe. Mufflers only provide a difference in sound, unless you are pushing extreme power. CAI does provide increases, but mainly combined w/ a tune. Throttle bodies really don't. Gears are great but gotta not fear it and go high.
