when to launch

I have an 03 GT - LT's - no cats - tune - pullies - 18's and street tires - 4.10 & CIA - I drive a 5spd - with my mods and street tires what is the best rpm to dump first at? I seem to be peelling out too much

Keep going down untill you dont spin. I have to go from 1200 rpm.

dumping it isnt gonna help, learn to slip it out of the hole if you want better 60's. For me on street tires it was 3k and slipping out of the hole.

The reason I ask is because i raced my friend a little bit today and i didnt get him off the line like i expected to. I launched - but it was inda spur of the monet so i didnt see the rpm - but I know that spun the fuk outa my tires and tore up second pretty good. - I have the 4.10 and long tubes - he has a 3.55 and intake. Now on the highway he was toast - and we really did race more than 1/16th of a mile - put it this way i didnt get into 3rd but i ran to the top of second. _ I just wonder if I should be concerned or what type of results I should expect from a stop liek we just did with his mods. I mean I am supposed to be able to blow by him on the git - go or is it normal to pull harder on him in 3rd and 4th? - Also could you explain slip out of the hole a little better to me>? - thanks
