Talking First time at the track w/ the mach

Here's a vid of my fastest time a 13.35. Keep in mind she's basically stock except for a slp catback and drop-in K&N filter. http://media.putfile.com/Swervos-Fir...-in-the-Mach-1

I was launching around 3k letting the clutch slip a little bit. I have BFG KDWS's that came with the car and lowered the pressure to 30psi.

Im shifting at 7k, because I have a mach. Im still at the top of 3rd when Im going through the traps, due to the 3.55's I have. When I put the 4.10s in I'll probably be shifting into 4th about 100ft or so before the traps.

whats the point of redlining?? all cars stop making power beyond a certain rpm, stock gts are usually somewhere around 5k...i dont hink your car is makign any power at 7k

nice run, and cool vid

shifting at 7k for him keeps his car in its power band. when you get out of the power band the the engine is working harder to get back into it. which equals to slower times

but his car stops mmaking power way before 7k, therefore staying at 6-7k wont do anything at all, you wont go faster, if you shift right before it quits making power ( to see specifically, youd have to go on a dyno) it will bennifit more, even thogh you lose a little in the shift, you still HAVE to shift

unless it was at the very end of the run i could understand, also that redline is there for a reason its dangerous for your motor

The Mach's redlines and 7k and I promise you my Mach doesn't stop producing power at 5,200....that's the difference between 2 valve engines and 4 valve engines!

That's a damn good time dude.....I have the same tires as you. What other mods are you looking at doing? I've got a Mac Prochamber and Magnaflow Cat back wating to be installed so we'll see how she runs after that and a dyno tune. I've read a ton of stuff on the Mach 1 registry that you need a dyno tune if you do anymore than just a cat back or cold air intake cause the A/F gets way out of wack

He's correct. Manual mach 1's redline is at 7k while the auto mach 1's are at 6k.

I just recieved my MGW shifter, going to put it in this weekend. Also my JLT CAI, I have to pick up at the post office tomorrow and a mac o/r h-pipe is on back order. I will definitely get a tune when I install everything.

well hot dayum! I knew I had seen pics of a mach 1 w/ a redline near 6k. I suppose it makes sense, since its the same engine as the 01 cobras...right?

Nice run there swervo. What track did you run at? You are making the mostest with that new mach 1 bro. Dam I bet it feels good going from a GT. Mach 1's rule. (not counting cobras). Since you got yours I've seen 2 or 3 mach 1's here in Fayettenam. What? did they have a big Mach 1 sale I didn't hear about . LOL.

Nice job on the driving.....having to shift into 4th near the traps with 4.10's is the very reason 4.30's are a much better gear for the 4 valves If you really are a serious 1/4 horse then 4.56's should be the gear of chioce
