Default First Time At The Track

Just got in from my first time on a drag strip. My best time was the 4th run where I ended up with a 8.8 @ 79 with a 1.9 60ft. I had slight problems heating up the slicks IE the rear end of the car comming around every time I did a burn out. I was hoping to run 8's which I got but I was looking to get at least 80 mph, but I'm pretty happy with the times for my first time on the track. :icon_smil

Hella good times man! I must suck 'cause my first time (last week) was only 9.5 @ 75mph and we have similar mods except I'm on street tires. And since ithat was your first time, I'd think you will only get lower!

Great times. I was hoping for 8's myself but due to the clutch pack in the rear end being burnt up Im only a one wheel wonder right now. I have the Nitto 555's and am wishing I woulda bought the Mickeys (who cares about tread life??)

Pony girl: With the parts in your sig. you should be doing mid to high 8's as well, but im sure that once you figure out the launch rpm and tire pressure you will be rewarded w/good times.

I think you should be faster than that. WIth just an O/R H pipe and K&N filter I ran a 9.1 with a 2.22 60 foot. You should be able to cut 1.7 60 foots with ET Streets, then you need to nail the shifts and I bet you see 8.3 or so.
