I have Flowmaster super 40 mufflers and they sound very deep and drone under light engine loads. I have had great luck with the goerlich excellerator turbo mufflers, they outflow dynomax and most other brands, they don't cost much and they have a great sound. Check out article below

my car sounds great under full throtle acceleration,it gets loud, even with the stock H-pipe and convertors. The car doesn't drone and resonate as much under full throtle as they do at partial throtle. I have mixed emotions about the flowmasters. My wife and neighbors hate them!(they rattle their windows)I may have to replace them witha quieter turbo muffler when I install a aftermarket X-pipe. I belive the v6 engine will drone and resonate much worse than the v8 and will not sound good with flowmasters. I have heard that the inexpensive 20.00 dollar turbo mufflers from Summit Racing are quiet but flow good.

in my opinion, flowmasters sound terrible on v6's... spintech's with stock cats and headers sound awesome though :icon_thum

you may want to try a Borla if you want loud that still sounds good or the Dyno max race turbo wich is a straight thru design similar to a glass pack but flows better.

LT's and off road H's make a 6 sound like a lawn mower stuck in a tin can.

Ive had 8 different mustangs since 1984, Flowmasters, walker dynomax, California turbo, Borla, Hooker, even some Cherry Bombs on a old mustang. I love the Magnaflows on here the best. Nice rumble @ idle. Loud when u get on it. On the highway no drone, and actually quieter than anything else ive had.

Id buy them on my next car and thinking about them for my truck

The magnaflow cat back system was just installed on a 05 GT by MD MOTORSPORTS and they found ZERO horsepower or torque gained compared to the stock exhaust system in before and after dyno tests. See article segment.

The last thing added was the Magnaflow catback. Once we got the car up on the lift and saw the stock exhaust, I was pretty sure that there was not much chance for a horsepower increase. The stock system was already 2.5" and looked fairly smooth. The connections are now slip fittings so changing out the exhaust was fairly simple. The dyno verified what we had expected. Although the car sounds much better, there were zero gains in horsepower and torque. This was not really a disappointment because the new catback sounds much better and has very nice looking tips.

If that magnaflows have 0 hp increase on the 05's that just means that Ford has some high quality parts out now

At idle it may sound like a V8 but under hard acceleration you will know its not. Same way a V10 on a viper sounds different than a v8.
