Default used turbo?

a friend of mine has an old ford probe, i forget what year and now hes getting rid of it and has a badass firebird. but he was saying hes having trouble selling his car cuz its old and ugly lol and hes like yo its got a turbo in it if i dont sell the car soon ill sell it to you mad cheap.
so first off is it even a good idea buying a used turbo
second would it work? and fit?

turbos arent application specific. you would need all the correcting piping and accessories to make it work though.

Depending on price, wouldnt be bad. The piping is going to be expensive because it all has to be custom bent and cut.
goto www.modularpowerhouse.com and check out their turbo setup. that will give you an idea of whats needed. I havent looked into turboing my car too much so I dont know of an independant company who offers a kit.
