yes it would work with the adapter. If you got the adapter you wouldn't need a midpipe. That midpipe wouldn't work anyway if you were to get a midpipe instead of the adapter it must be for a V6. Yea it will fit with a v6 bumper. SLP usually does not sound good on a v6 just a heads up

Which did you buy the one that looks like this:

or similar in shape to this:

if you bought the 1st one that doesn't work with an H pipe. It's meant to attach to your stock midpipe (Y pipe). If you bought the second one then you need to remove the Y pipe and either run straight pipes to the headers or run an H pipe.

true, but if he did buy the 1st one I think he could a) call up mac and see if he can purchase the tubes to make it the second one, or b) he could take it to a shop and have them fab up those two straight pieces to fit to his H-pipe.

You could get rid of all the cats and add 2 highflow ones in place of the 4 you have. But with the amount of money you just spent you could of done a bolt on H-pipe with cats.

no point of an x pipe. If you were going to get a midpipe I would go with an H or run straight pipes. X pipes make more sense on a v8 since the v6 is even firing. Shorty headers won't really do anything if you were to replace the headers I would go with long tubes for the most gains. If you go with long tubes you will need a shorty midpipe

I hvae some retarded friends that dont know alot about cars and they seem to think that turndowns would hurt my gas mileage lol that cant be true is it?

Good thing about magnaflow is that they flow better than flowmasters, and good thing about flowmasters is the sound , so damn i freakin need help, i know if i get flow's i would be able to make up the loss of the low end tq with LT headers or the intake manifold spacer, n wat i mean by that is the space that belongs between the lowe and upper intake manifold

PLZ yall i need help on this i cant decide

First of all, not to rain down on your parade but when you are getting exhaust it is not for performance man. Yeah these places say it will give you this much amount of ponies but that is a load of crap. You would be lucky to even feel a difference at all. If i were you i would forget about the so called "power lose" and go for the mufflers that sound the best.

So....if I want to dual exhaust my 96 v6 I wouldnt need the adapter kit, or have to buy an x or h pipe..? I just buy any 94-98 gt or cobra exhaust and have a shop fit it on for me?

you can do the adapter or the h pipe. You can buy any exhaust but i would recommend the shop just do the piping themselves because there is no advantage or disadvantage to the exhaust kits vs the custom fabbed ones and it would be cheaper if the shop fabbed one. That is what i wish i did but my exhaust was a gift so i really had no choice lol

it hooks up to your pipes right after the cats making it true dual. From the headers to the cats you have dual exhaust already. Then after the cats it connects into a Y pipe which then leads to the solo stock muffler. The addapter cuts off the Y portion of the piping to form the H and allows you to use any exhaust kit normally found on gt's and cobras

So basically, you can go out and buy any H pipe that you want. There are BBK, Magnaflow, slp and Pypes. But H-pipes are all the same, one does not perform better than the other, they are just piping. So going with the brand name H pipes is a popular choice but having the exhaust shop making there own would be the cheapest way to go if you are worried about price. Prices for Brand name H pipe range from 200 - 500 bucks depending on which name you buy, basically you buy the name. I currently have a custom made H pipe. The only thing i recommend is if you go with a custom made H pipe and are going to use cats, go with high flow cats like these http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/CVM10K/10002/-1.
And if you have the general questions you can always refer to this http://www.americanmuscle.com/unders...t-systems.html

And this is the Picture of the Y pipe that the v6s have and the True Dual:

any H pipe however it has to be specifically for a v6 not an gt. This cuts down on a lot of the brands there aren't many made for a sixer. He is better off just having one custom made by the exhaust shop.

Question decatted xpipe

i am considering buying the pypes xpipe(without the cats) for my 02 mustang(v6) and in the picture it seems that there is a spot for 4 o2 sensors but running without cats would make the rear 2 o2 sensors unnecessary right??? i would still have to find some kind of mil eliminator(probably on the black market or something because they seem to have disappeared from the internet) or a tuner right? If so why would pypes even put o2 sensor ports on the back of there xpipe?? https://mustangboards.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
