i bought a v6 mac catback exhaust sysyem and now i whant to get the h pipe convert system so is my mac v6 catback exhaust system fit up to the h pipe or does it have to be a v8 catback and also what the hell are the 2 long things coming off the cat. converters are they restrictors?

or similar in shape to this:

if you bought the 1st one that doesn't work with an H pipe. It's meant to attach to your stock midpipe (Y pipe). If you bought the second one then you need to remove the Y pipe and either run straight pipes to the headers or run an H pipe.
Which did you buy the one that looks like this:

yeah true I didn't think of that when I was typing
i just got my v6 y-pipe system into true dual now no h-pipe or x i had it fabricate at a shop so now i'm lookking at the 4 cats now i want to do something about the two long cats after the two short ones would it be a good idea to get a high flow one and if so what will that do for me, i would love to get rid of it period but virginia is so strick on this stuff so any sugestions
You could get rid of all the cats and add 2 highflow ones in place of the 4 you have. But with the amount of money you just spent you could of done a bolt on H-pipe with cats.
ok so i have a 01 ford racing adition v6 mustang it came w/ everything from a gt on true dual exhaust wDual Flowmaster 40s. I was thinking of gething some BBK shorty headers and pipes x-pipes w no cats is that a good setup ok what
no point of an x pipe. If you were going to get a midpipe I would go with an H or run straight pipes. X pipes make more sense on a v8 since the v6 is even firing. Shorty headers won't really do anything if you were to replace the headers I would go with long tubes for the most gains. If you go with long tubes you will need a shorty midpipe
ok dont know if this has been dicuss yet but probaly has, but wat is better
FLOWMASTER
or
MAGNAFLOW
i really want an exhaust that will give me hp+ not hp-
i only have one flowmaster right now, but im deciding to sell the flowmaster muffler n buy 2 maganflow mufflers, wat yall think

Magnaflow FTW!
Do it! Do it!
i have some magnaflows but they arent that loud and i wanna go louder. My friend had some 1 chambers on his v6 and sounded pretty good so i might go with those. I hvae some retarded friends that dont know alot about cars and they seem to think that turndowns would hurt my gas mileage lol that cant be true is it?
damn but i still dont know, my ****** brain is going crazy cuz i dont know which ones to pick
plz need sum help, i want magnaflow but at about 2500rpm the sound rice, n flowmasters they decrease ur low end, n also sound raspy at about 3000rpm also they dont flow good.
Good thing about magnaflow is that they flow better than flowmasters, and good thing about flowmasters is the sound , so damn i freakin need help, i know if i get flow's i would be able to make up the loss of the low end tq with LT headers or the intake manifold spacer, n wat i mean by that is the space that belongs between the lowe and upper intake manifold
PLZ yall i need help on this i cant decide

First of all, not to rain down on your parade but when you are getting exhaust it is not for performance man. Yeah these places say it will give you this much amount of ponies but that is a load of crap. You would be lucky to even feel a difference at all. If i were you i would forget about the so called "power lose" and go for the mufflers that sound the best.
So....if I want to dual exhaust my 96 v6 I wouldnt need the adapter kit, or have to buy an x or h pipe..? I just buy any 94-98 gt or cobra exhaust and have a shop fit it on for me?
you can do the adapter or the h pipe. You can buy any exhaust but i would recommend the shop just do the piping themselves because there is no advantage or disadvantage to the exhaust kits vs the custom fabbed ones and it would be cheaper if the shop fabbed one. That is what i wish i did but my exhaust was a gift so i really had no choice lol
I have been looking for an exhaust adapter kit forever!!! Will this adapter kit work with stock headers?
http://www.americanmuscle.com/v6duexadkit.html
I mean idk where it would hook up too. im new at this exhaust bullshit

And if you have the general questions you can always refer to this http://www.americanmuscle.com/unders...t-systems.html
And this is the Picture of the Y pipe that the v6s have and the True Dual:
So basically, you can go out and buy any H pipe that you want. There are BBK, Magnaflow, slp and Pypes. But H-pipes are all the same, one does not perform better than the other, they are just piping. So going with the brand name H pipes is a popular choice but having the exhaust shop making there own would be the cheapest way to go if you are worried about price. Prices for Brand name H pipe range from 200 - 500 bucks depending on which name you buy, basically you buy the name. I currently have a custom made H pipe. The only thing i recommend is if you go with a custom made H pipe and are going to use cats, go with high flow cats like these http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/CVM10K/10002/-1.

i am considering buying the pypes xpipe(without the cats) for my 02 mustang(v6) and in the picture it seems that there is a spot for 4 o2 sensors but running without cats would make the rear 2 o2 sensors unnecessary right??? i would still have to find some kind of mil eliminator(probably on the black market or something because they seem to have disappeared from the internet) or a tuner right? If so why would pypes even put o2 sensor ports on the back of there xpipe?? https://mustangboards.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
