Default JLT CAI

Well normally JLT doest make any CAI for a 3.8 but with my eaton swap I bought the JLT cold air intake and installed it yesterday. I tell you what, its a BITCH without removing the passenger side wheel. But I did it.

Seems to be worth it too.

That why I got the RAI. Everytime you want to take it off to work on the engine, you'll have to do this.

+1. Plus there is no way a longer CAI makes it better. Hell with the eatons, a slightly longer Plenum can hurt horsepower so you can't tell me a wheel-well CAI won't.

Is your eaton ported or just stock port?

Never heard of a longer plenum hurting HP on the cobra. Plus the JLT CAI is very well known on cobras and dyno proven up to 30HP gains. Also to work on the engine I dont have to take everything off, just the main pipe. No more so than a ram air intake. But when I need to clean the filter, THAT will be the hard part again.

Also stock eaton with stock pulley right now. I am getting a 3.4 billetflow pulley non slip (its in the mail now) put on soon. Should see 2-3 more PSI which will bring me to 8-9. This should be the optimal boost level to keep heat down and still make good power.

Yea. Friend of mine just rebuilt etc another friends cobra.. he's got the bigass cabron fiber intake on it...

I talked to the guy at JLT when I was doing my build, asking if he had ever thought about doing a intake for a 3.8 and he basically said "No, because I only get like one call once every month or so."

Anyways, what sort of power are you making with that blower? Track times yet?

3.4 will not give you 2-3 more psi the stock is like a 3.6 or something so thats not a big jump. You need a 3.1 for that. I'd just get a 2.93 and call it a day.

Then you need to ship it off to posi performance to get the eaton ported. More hp with less boost equals

Then you'll eat some 01 and older cobras up.

It will. You have to realize that my motor is smaller than a 4.6 so it takes less amount of air to make the same 8PSI that it would for your cobra. A 3.10 would get me like 12-14PSI.
