Default VMP?

http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...=192&parent=82

So i want to get a cheap CAI...and VMPtuning.com says that their filter with the stock rubber tuning will be the exact same as, lets say a JLT...or BBK CAI?!?

Is this true...can just buying the VMP CAI do the exact same thing?

Are the BBK CAI metal tubing just for looks?

a CAI is more looks than power gain. If you like the way it looks, get one. If you dont care how it looks, get a drop in K&N filter and call it done. a CAI and K&N drop in filter will net you about the same power...1hp, maybe 2. maybe none.

not sure on your 05+ stang...a CAI might require a tune.

Some intakes require a tune on the 05+ models. As far as what VMP is saying..I'd be willing to be its true.

if you pull the hydrocarbon filter from the inlet tube you get most if not all of the gain of a CAI on an 05+ GT. Add a K&N or whatever free flowing filter and you're pretty much mimicking a CAI. The tune afterward is worth more than the mod itself.
