Question Possibly Wanting a V8 for my V6

Was wondering the cost of a V8 swap after normal labor and such and if anyone knows a place i can get a good deal. My mother has a 2000 F150 and someone mentioned to me once i could take parts from her truck if i wanted to and im just all out of sorts about it and would love ANY feedback. The V6 is nice but if im wanting POWER it can only be obtained by switching i feel. Unless i feel like droping 5 grand for a supercharger kit..

It might Cost you the same for the swap. It depends on what swap you are gonna do. I would suggest if you really want to to just do a 05-2010 3v swap cause you would probably have to change less and do less modifing than the older 2v. but not that sure. My suggestion is just wait keep paying on this car cause when the 2011 comes out with the 5.0 i am sure the 05-2010 GTs will be pretty cheap. Heck you can get a 04 GT for a good price now.
Maybe trade in go for a 04 GT which would be cheaper then your car now i assume.

the swap will probably run you closer to 6 grand or so if you do it on the cheap.

yeah, i would say go turbo or super. unless you can find a wrecked gt and swap over everything yourself it aint worth it. paying someone else to do it will be outrageous.

You may be able to piece one together for cheaper but not to sure. People sell used ones once in awhile for cheap so maybe go that route.

If you want to piece a supercharger together, I would recommend searching corral.net. That's where I found everything I bought used for my kit. When all is said and done, I probably will have spent maybe slightly over 2K for everything and that will include the dyno tune. I bought my Vortech head unit for $650.

I wouldn't worry about a SC until you've gotten a nice amount of mods done first.

most that im worried about is tearing up the rear end. they say not to put more than 450hp in a v6 or youll rip the car apart so i see them around 400hp in some videos but still around what HP would i want to look into replacing rear end?
